I was sitting here in the lounge room watching my little bloke suck on an icy pole, when it occurred to me that some of you unfortunate people north of "King Neptunes Line" may also be doing the same.......if you were silly enough to slip face-first into a snow drift. Laughing emoticon

So I thought I'd send a pic of my shaded front porch at 1pm to warm you up a bit.

Have a great, and safe, Christmas to you and yours. 8)

Those that live in the only industrialised nation not to adopt the metric system might not appreciate the scale is in degrees Celcius...

That equates to 116 degrees in the old measure. If you look closely, you can see the recording pin that marked a temperature of 49 degrees, or 120 Fahrenheit!

When I lived in Bangkok, my neighbor was from Oz. I joked with him that a visit home was probably nice to feel a bit of cool. He said that there are three temperatures in Australia, Hot...Hotter...and f***ing Hot. He said the sweltering humidity of Bangkok was a pleasant break from the constant heat in Australia.

Like most things, I guess it depends whereabouts you are I spose.
My brother lives in Melbourne, and he's had temps from 10-25*C all week.
I also remember coming alongside one weekend right at the top of the Gulf of Thailand to repair some onboard A/C and Gen units (Navy) while tied up, and the temps during the day were high-40s with over 90% humidity due to the hot monsoons.
Below steel decks with no A/C in that stuff, damn that was hot! LOL
