You guys have seen this bike around cause it was found in a barn and the guy started posting here about it. He's into cars and has a bike or two but didn't want to get too deep into another project I think. Well I thought it was a nice bike and it came up on CL for sale last weekend not to mention we're looking at 847 miles on the odo here. There is a crease in the legshield but other than that the bike seems really straight like it has 847 miles on it and has lived in a barn it's whole life. Came with the Sears parts catalog and the original tool kit. We've got till November to rebuild the motor and freshen the bike up but we'd probably like to have it done earlier to take it to a couple rallies as a club. Anyhow, Hearseguy seemed really nice and although he had some offers I think he gave us a fair price because he understood the bike would be getting raffled off to a good home and not languishing in a garage for another 45 years. Here's a like to the original thread:

My new old Vespa...

and a pic I took in the garage last night.

maybe I'll start a project thread but I'm about 8 hours away from firing up my GL. I've ignored everything else for the last month just to complete that....I'm stoked not to have to tear this thing totally down and honestly, I'll probably only look for bikes that don't need that kind of work again...anyhow....regards!

You could have bought it Runburg, but we got it at the price we did because I have been doing the legwork on that guy for 6 months now. You SHOULD have bought the 1974 RALLY that dude was selling for $700 bucks or so, in fact there are about 5 people who I called and notified it was available who should have gotten it....namely DirtyHANDS Lopez to start with....but trust me, you'll be happier with the P200 which is rebuilt on the bottom end and fully operational electrical to start than the Sprint. While the sprint is nice, it's gonna take a whole lotta work and I know you got the skills to do it but not something that's fun to do without lot's of little help here and there. Anyhow, it's time to step our game up as a club....I'm tired of giving away P-Series bikes....at least we're not giving away Stellas

Jimmy...come to Richmond and hang out at Empire...owner is from Chain of Fools SC and is a lambretta guy, old school cool. We'll show you a good time...not like that stanky beach down there. Razz emoticon
