Went for long-ish ride this Sunday of about a hunnerd miles. It was about 40 out and humid but I figured I'd ride without my thermals - just the jacket layers and balaclava. I discovered there really is a thing such as "chilled to the bone". My legs were chilly to the core and it lasted about 2 hours. I'm normally a very toasty person.

Second - I had accidentally overfilled my crankcase a month ago when I did my service. The strange thing is my bike has not thrown any oil like it had. I figured this trip with extended 70mph+ would surely do it. Anyone else having oil blowing issues wants to try this I'd be interested to hear the results. If you fill up about half the distance between max & min over the max mark that's about what I have.

3rd - this pinlock insert is tits. I need to move it up a bit but it works great. Highly recommended.

4th - I'm down to my last spare on the Givi topcase. I had one locksmith made a spare after 5 tries and it twisted off this morning - thank goodness it fell out. Last I checked you can't get spare keys from Givi - anyone know anything about this?

Put some WD40 once in awhile where needed to keep your Givi key from breaking off. Also don't overfill your top case.

Yeah the Pinlock system is the best. Wish I hadn't waited so long to try it.

Thanks Doug - I'll look into it this week. I did find a young kid at a lock shop that made one first try. So not a pucker issue - yet.

question is why do you keep breaking a key off? is it hard to turn, too much stuff in the top box you have to push it down hard and putting stress on the lock?

None of the above. It "just did". You push on the button *after* the key is turned and they are separate - so the key is not in the button.
