Merry Xmas all!

Parked up at work this morning and noticed the following spots of surface rust on one of my mirrors.

I believe this is the result of my bike cover getting wet on the inside.

Is there anything I can do to remove this a restore the chrome back to its former shiny self??

I have polished similar rust off using a product called Simichrome polish. Afterwards the rust will come back if it gets wet. You can give the mirror a heavy coat of wax every few weeks. Or clean and spray clear paint over the chrome to seal the rust. Or buy a new mirror.

That will more than likely not polish out. You can try 000 steel wool to try to remove that but I would be skeptical. That amount of rust does not happen overnight. It would take quite a while for rust that deep to appear. If you can get it off, a good coat of wax like the previous poster suggested would be prudent to keep it from coming back.

I have a little bit of rust on my mirror stems. I saw a video on you tube about rubbing with tin foil and then a good coat of car wax. Seemed to look good so may try this.
