Yes, great build thread w/ lots of interesting tricks. Clap emoticon

AND it would seem that I need to send Patrick a sweet reward for posting the best pic on the front page.
I was leaning towards Jimmy cuz he's obviously having the best time w/ a fine old scoot at one of my favorite places, the waterfront.

Sorry Jimmy, but the response to this:

is thru the roof.

however, this for some reason is one of my favorite shots:

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

note: it was taken more than a month later, i just happen to almost always wear the same thing.

what i'd really like to find is the photo of patrick and i riding side by side somewhere in the marin headlands, i know it's floating around somewhere...

what is astonishing is: how much smaller the unstealth is than my PK when side by side (not to mention how much of a better rider he is than i am!).

best,

all kidding aside it was a little crisp that day, but not nearly as bad as that year it rained when we rode wayyyy the fuck out to BFE... i had to turn around and go back to SLO cuz my helmet was totally soaked and dripping water down the back of my neck and into my jacket! took the fwy the WHOLE way back...

This was from a 60's Vescony catalog found in the glovebox of a GS160 I acquired. A lot of neat stuff in the catalog. Some of it I had seen before, some I had not. Why can't they make single serving oil like that anymore. Truly space-age.

The top image pertains to small frame, the rest does not, but who gives a shit - its Saturday! I plan to archive this as a PDF later in the week as the pamphlet it literally falling apart.

I just picked up this little guy, so I thought that I would share. It's a 1974 US Spec Primavera.

It's in great original shape as far as I've seen... just needs some love.

Anyone holding original indicators? I'm also missing one of those pyramid looking brackets that the indicators mount on.

No problem. N = nut, B = bolt head The lengths of the 2 missing ones are unknown because they are studs and I haven't finished splitting it.

My diagram above sucks. It's missing a bolt! Of course I took the missing bolt out and recorded it as the wrong number, so it's all jacked up. When I put it back together, maybe I'll make another.

The Primaveras and 100 Sports are not rare on the East Coast. I see loads of them. More smallframes and Allstates than proper largeframes here. There's a few '64 V90s for sale in my area right now at decent prices. I'd pick one up, but life is in the way right now.

That could be fun to mark up tuned bikes in a similar fashion with a "130" or "140".

Half ass luv rubs
Geez Bart, what a lovely pair. I think I like hers better, w/ the silver wheels & real deal seat.

Here's a few pics of the 50N I'm just finishing up finally. I just did half of it kinda rough so far on the original blue paint revival, thought ppl might like to see the difference.

I think this was the least Vespa they ever sold, if not the cheapest. NO speedo, NO brake lite, NO metal floor trim, THREE speed and I believe the smallest tires sold on a production Vespa, 2.75x9. Yup, the TIRE is smaller than a 3.50x8. Narrower, about the same OD and a bigger ID resulting in a whole lot less rubber. This thing was built CHEAP.

Thanks. Yeah, this one is a blast, but not scary fast.

And you think your smallie is nimble compared to your big ones, try these skinny little 9's if you ever get a chance. Tiny tires? This is like the Austin Mini of Vespas, gocart/roller skate. I'd love to keep 'em but they're way too old w/ small cracks showing and nearly impossible to source.
