I've taken the funky/ugly leg shield, refrigerator type, wire rack off, but have no where to put stuff anymore. I'm also curious about the helmet hook on your seat? I have a 50 special with no hook. Is it stock to mount on the seat? Cheers, PacRat The rear rack came with the scoot and is made by F.A.R. SpA Italy, unfortunately they are no longer produced. It is held on by the seat pin and a backing plate that is located behind the rear tail lamp. You can find other versions: rear rack. Some can hold a spare tire and most of the designs that I see currently produced will need additional mounting rods and possible drilling in the frame. The helmet hook comes stock mounted on most bench seats but some members prefer them just below the seat and mounted to the frame. It's very handy for holding the helmet and securing your take away dinner, it gets way more use vs the rack. -Its cool how VW's enthusiasts seem to also flock to the simplicity of the ol' scoots and vice versa. I dream of a Westy with a Subaru conversion or even a Syncro. Post a pic of your 67 bus, when you can. Cheers! I had a helmet hook on my PX and I used it almost every day. Yes, there seems to be common ground between VW's and Vespas. I have had many, many VW's over the years and this last bus for 23 now. I have always admired the Vespa style and seemingly simple mechanicals. (I haven't done any engine work, yet) Both enthusiasts can appreciate the work to keep these vintage icons on the road! Here's a pic of my bus. I'll try to get one w/ the scoot so to keep the thread on track. It's a 67, last of the splits and first of the 12V models. I courted my wife with it and spent many nights camping. Its a bit ugly, but it is all mine. If anyone knows a great body man. . . Thanks again for the welcome and reply to my questions. I'm going to have a lot of questions! Cheers, PacRat |

Man, that bus has character, thanks for sharing! I looked up the Sea Blau paint and its a sharp looking VW stock colour. Ya, my scoot sports the original paint color (Marine Blu). Another pic for posterity. |

It was a bit beat, but had original paint, but boy was it slow. I was in the middle of deciding where to kit it or not, and my next scooter came on the market. It was also an ex-Japan 1998 re-issue of the ET3. If there ever was a scooter to own and regret selling, that was it. It was nearly mint, but had a 135 Malossi kit, Bitubo shock and Polini pipe. The deciding factor to sell was that I was not licensed to ride it, ( being over 50cc ). Now, I would just ride it and bugger the legal consequences. Sloooooooooowwwwwww
Why oh why did I sell this

Hi guys!
I'm privileged to have just got hold of this beautiful ET3 and am in the process of fine tuning some details to match up to the original look. It was first registered in 1999 so from some research, it's a Japanese reissue. Does that mean it was made in Japan? Hmm. Also, just wondering why my handlebar doesn't have the ignition and I'm contemplating whether or not I should install one? Honestly I love the look and it does add a layer of security to this rare scoot here. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks guys. |

You can just make out on the top of the headset a circular area where the key would be. Maybe it was removed, or has a blank under the paint.
BTW, if you go to smallframes.com and look at the photos of the Japanese ET3, you will see there are a number of differences to yours....not saying yours is not one of the re-issue models, just that if it is, there are a number of differences. Grips, no bar ends, seat, tail light, speedo, stripe colour, key....all different but could easily have been changed As Fabio said, very cool scooter |

thanks guys.
yup i suspect that bubbly area could have been the spot where the ignition key used to be also noted on the differences as compared to the pictures in smallframes.com ordered the tail light and bar ends (but wont be doing the bar ends after all cuz i just found out they're not approved here) and i'll have to stick signals by the side of the tail light and beside the front mirrors to get it back on the road (ugh) ordered a new seat too and i was looking up on the horn cover apparently this "cross" design was for the pk50s? still looks really nice though http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/horn+for+vespa+pk50s+_21644300 |

SO many gorgeous bikes lately! The paint on those last three was just amazing.
Which does make it a bit embarassing to post up my latest, but what the hell, she's had a long, hard but honest life. Still gotta finish loverubs on the right side

Thanks, yep I wish I could find a case of those damn headlite rings! Gonna have to figure out how to MAKE them, shouldn't be too hard.
I think the pipe is a Simonini, just a kidney pipe like Polini & Leo Vince(that's a Leo Vince on Primmy in background). And yep, it's a '67 V90 three speed. Besides the pipe I added a 20L carb and it is surprisingly quick. Gotta wind that sucker w/ the 3 speed, but no problem there now. Here's your headlite ring & another look at the pipe: |

Nope, that's a German one I think. It used to be on my 'dirt bike' smallie in Greece. See, there it is!
I put one of the RH conversion stands on the dirt bike cuz they fold up flat & don't hang down much at all. See the difference? PS anybody know where to get another one of these Leo Vince PK pipes PLEASE hook me up. Kinda noisey, but they work well. |

My pal Panos sent me these pics of his scoots after giving both of them a wash. I see he's been adding a little black paint to the olive drab bike and now it's two tone like his first one.

As for that wicked Bluebadge, I see at least a PK fork and suspect possible water cooling? Very tidy! |

You are prob right on that and my wallet thanks you
I still wanna see pics of the Falc setup, that crazy guy & his wife are my heroes. If I was gonna blow giant money, I'd wanna do it here. He makes his own patterns and then makes the molds for his castings which he gets poured at a local foundry. Then they machine everything. More HERE |
