I wanna see the smallies we got here.

Post up your smallie here please, even if it's currently on 'project' status. Post up what you did to your smallie if you did something smallie unique to it recently. Or just post up pics from a good ride. I suppose if you want, you can post up smallie questions too, but that's not the main intent here. Anyway all small stuff welcome.

To encourage lots of pics, I will offer up a fresh unopened bag of delicious Haribo Primavera candy for the best pic on this page. These are yummy. Doesn't even have to be a Primavera and I'll pay the postage too. Ho ho ho.

...thud, Yeah agreed, we need more pics of this one. On the same trip would be great! Do those stripes mean ET3(what year)?

I like some of the details we can see, is that two extra gas tanks? & tell me about your floorboard!

Jimmy, got a pic of your old ET3? Eyelashes emoticon

more Primavera
Dan, your gray & black has always been one of my favorites and it's good to see more of it. My Primmy is still that same original orange, the flat black was sprayed over a good wax job to come off when desired:

The rear turns on mine came from Dan's bike, you can see them in his 2nd pic.

mark, what pipe is that? Nice bike, where is it now?

okay.

A pic of the sold et3 and a pic of the 'cow'. I currently co-own this primavera. It is a 66' bluebadge and was originali Gators scoot from Atomic Scooters in the valley. It still has an Atomic Scooters plate frame.
It needs attention as my buddy is just not into it.

Not too many pics yet, we'll get some more when it gets full road clearance. This is my new 74 Primavera. Currently about to get a clutch, as it slips in 2nd and 3rd. ET3 top end sitting on the bench for the near future plans. Polini kidney but otherwise stock minus the signals.

Great pic of you both actually. I can see why you sometimes regret parting.

So the stripes do mean ET3? And is the port all in the cylinder? Could I bolt one on?

Putting a PK pipe on my offroad smallie
I liked the added power this Leo Vince pipe gave my PK, but not the noise so much, I prefer under the radar in the neighborhood.
The noise will be fine w/ this one, let 'em know I'm coming.
This pipe is considerably different than and much better than the proper bolt on Leo Vince pipe that's on my Primavera(it's like a Polini copy).

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

The PK muff mounts different - from behind and lower, off a bolt that runs through well under the main mounting bolt centerline.
I welded on an extension after flattening part of the original mount to get needed clearance.
Still comes off easy enough, undo bolt & spring, pivot and pull.

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text
I had to bash the frame lip back a little bit

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text
and grind the pivot a touch.

This is the long stroke 4 speed motor I was hoping to get installed & did after heavy cleaning and new rings + hone(complete stator rewire too). Pipe works nice, keeps pulling strong for longer than before. Highest temp after long uphill was 405 F and plug looked fine. Maybe a 133 kit in the Spring.

I hope OCThud is noticing that I retained the old prebent kickstart lever from the original motor, thus hopefully avoiding lever getting slammed into a big rock.

No, more like I was trying to defrench the PO's valiant attempt to PK it.
I buffed & clearcoated the rusty areas around the cutouts & pop riveted in steel plates.(look in the wide shot w/ the new muff)
I may try LEDs behind old red glass lenses there, mockup looked OK.

Nice shot ebeth. What fork you got in there & did you have to modify it?

Tip of the hat to sdjohn for pointing me to a cheap, unused NOS ET3 top end set. Pays to ask I guess!

Hey guys, just put a PK motor into a V9A frame...All lines up really well except the engine side door barely clears the flywheel and does not clear the flywheel cover. Are the PK motors really wider? Is there an aftermarket flywheel that fits thin enough to have the engine side door on??

I don't know that answer TR, but did you put it in your silver one? I was just about to leave a comment saying how clean that bike is.. I really like it.

Could you get the deeper door buffers? I know they make several thicknesses. how far put of whack is it?

Yes and it's bad...the flywheel cover is almost 1/8" further out than the engine door! Some creative work could be done there to gain the needed clearance, but there simply isn't enough clearance between the flywheel and the door! I am hoping an electronic flywheel or something is thinner. I am sure someone has come across this!

I really wanted to leave the bike totally stock, but the three speed 90 was simply too slow and the bike was just sitting...So, now with some HP and a good front damper that tries to make up for the bad brake dive, it will get much more use. It has been a 20 years since I had a (modified) smallframe and they are still lots of fun...

as you know in the mid 1960's the engine size, engine door size and rear end of the frame is slightly changed up due to increased engine displacement...

is your V9A an early small door...??
if so then the clearance shall be a issue if using a later engine in a early small frame.

you might be able to bend the door and or the fan tin a little to get the clearance you need...??

I can PM you a dedicated small frame forum page if you want

Thanks Spider! I know the doors changed height but didn't realize the width of the tail of the scoot was different, surprise!

bending the door doesn't get enough clearance without surgery to the fan shroud...And even then, the clearance between the flywheel and door is worrisome...

Bash plate, galvanized steel 3 times thicker than the body metal.
My floor was pretty bad & I wasn't interested in cut, prep & welding in a new one of only the original thickness.

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

You can see the remnants of the original floor here.
1/4" x 1" reinforcing strips were epoxied on the top side under the rows of SS allen head bolts.
I also added 1/4" x 1" edge guards that you can see in the muffler pic previously posted.
I'll be using this one offroad a lot.
