Hoping the term "tug" is correct. Looking for a base to eventually build a scooter/sidecar platform. I know I can up cc's on both to a point and that the 05 has a front disc. Thanks for any intel.

Thanks for all the great replies- one more question. Looking online I see a big bore kit to that would bring the 150 to 190cc. That would enable me to have an approx 25 year newer wiring, brakes etc. You guys would still go with the P200e? Again thanks this really is helpful.

If you're willing to kit it just get the PX IMO. I love my 200 (needs to be rebuilt though 😞), but the brakes and newer electrics are a big deal and the gearing will be better for hauling

Agree with Xantufrog, get the 05. You will have to regear it to pull the hack. Be aware that after the engine and trany work, your top speed is going to be 45 mph. And you are going to be going thru front tires more often. I had a BMW 75/7 with a sidecar and it can be fun with the right bike and conditions.

Thanks for everyone's advice it really helped. I have found a P200e that we are going to refresh and go through all the internals. May boost the engine with the 210 kit and or change some gearing to handle the hills in my neighborhood and surrounding area.

Front disc is a must which ever direction you go - cause - well - stopping is good. Arguably easier to kit a 150 than put a front disc on - so perhaps a toss up. You can get plenty of juice out of a 150 with a kit. Something torquey like a BGM will bring smiles to your face and tears to your eyes. The tears will be from fear and Nadia Como-neeechi level yoga moves when you turn right. A stearing damper will help. A few degrees of toe in will also add some stability and tracking. Matt Giver - who is out of Scooter Mercato knows a thing or two 'bout hacks - so ingratiate yourself if you can. Y'all come back now. Ya hear? -CM |
