Got up in the mid 60's for a few days. Went for a couple of rides, 40 miles to lake and back and one for 90 miles, Sandy and I went to daughters and to lunch with her. Kinds of cold when we left the house, 51 but warmed up nicely for ride home. Jeans, riding pants, tee shirt, shirt, sweater, regular jacket, insulated riding jacket, barely could move, but we were warm and smiling. We enjoyed it. Had storm shelter installed today. 68 but no time for ride. Took 2 guys 2 1/2 hours to dig and install plus backfill. Ready for spring season now. Sure hope we never need it. But one time in a lifetime and I will consider it well worth it. Plus it will help sell home in Oklahoma when we get too old to stay here. Merry Xmas everyone. Hope you guys have a happy and safe new year.

Merry Christmas George and Sandy!
Not nearly warm enough here to hop on the scoot for me.
supposed to get into the 60's tomorrow, but with a 100% chance of rain and high winds, I will not be riding.
Then it is back into the 20's and 30's.

I had a storm shelter put in at my house a few years ago. It is such a relief to know I have something to run to if needed. We have hunkered down in there a few times. It really eases the mind.

Riding and Sheltering
I went riding a lot last week too...Never would have thought I could have stood 40-50 degree weather & riding on a scooter...Wha? emoticon

not sure if it was the new toy syndrome, nerves or so many layers of clothing but it was sooo much fun. After the sun would start setting - it got chilly some.

Learned one thing last week... In chilly weather - I won't wear ear rings again lol...brrrrr drove bug to work one day ... about 35 degrees... ears were aching.... it was like putting an ice cube on em...

George, Sandy, and Holly - Wow... I too installed a storm shelter last year. Live on husbands family homestead. Over the years I can count a history of about 9 tornadoes that's been within 2miles of this location...When hubby was a child....Two bad tornadoes wiped out homes... one family member didn't make it thru the storm...

Have had 2 since I moved here.. but didn't hit the home. Heard the freight train sound tho... Anyway.... know what you mean... its peace of mind to have a place to duck in bad weather!!!

Yup, been riding all this week and most of last. Temps have gotten into the upper 20's, and we've had some light snow. The right gear makes all the difference.

Not many other bikes on the road though...

I've been getting some good practice rides in this week. Night rides only until I'm more comfortable riding in heavy traffic. Got some lite drizzle last night though (first). I've now got 40 miles under my belt.
