The rear shock I pulled out of the smallie is a Bitubo with a huge chunk of rubber on top. I have a new stockish Carbone on the shelf that doesn't have this huge block of rubber, but also doesn't have the extra rod on top that would allow me to put it on there. I'm just wondering if the metal cup on top can mount direct to the frame?
That rubber is part of the mount so motor vibrations don't transfer to the frame/and also it would lower your bike in not a good way if you left it out.
