I have a little over 14,000 miles on this tire and it is just now into the wear bars in the middle. It probably has a few thousand miles more of safe riding so I will keep it around as an interim tire and mount a new City Grip on my spare rim. Expecting to get a Marc Parnes for Christmas.

The incredible number of miles people are reporting on the City Grip rear 150 coupled with how insanely easy it is to change the rear wheel now that I have an AK has made me want to try one. Add the pain in the ass it is to mount a 14 inch car tire on these rims and it seems to make less sense to continue with a car tire. At least for now. I will probably go back to it in the future.

I'm going to run my CRTs 'till they're almost bald. Looks like you've been running too much air pressure. I started @ 38 # but have dropped it down to 30# now since my 12" tire was wearing faster in the middle like yours.

I've noticed on my 14" tire it's wearing faster on the left side of the tread. Must be from the rain runoff crown on the roads here. This is something you notice more with a sidecar rig in that you have to compromise it's alignment due to crowns in roads..

Somewhere I heard that motorcycle tires on scooters are dangerous.

Would installing snow tire chains on it make it safer? Laughing emoticon Razz emoticon Goofy emoticon

Laughing emoticon If I had a dollar for every time I have been killed on a car tire.

Yeah the sweet spot for me is a little firmer. Tried many different pressures but the one I am running now is where I like it best.

Also, being a snow tire, I think the softer compound wears faster.

Haven't been killed by a car tire, or a scooter tire, or a MC tire yet in 50+ years of riding, driving. Don't automatically believe everything you are told.

I think that was the point of his comment. Note the winks.

Yeah, I overreacted, but some actually believe everything that they're told by a tire mfg., like always use only a matched set of front/rear tires. That's a crock! I've actually found unmatched tires work better together than matched tires some times.

No worries at all - I was just "pokin" at you darksiders and at those few that preach to you that you are "going to die".
