Picked up my GTS Super this Sunday just gone... Haven't had chance to ride it yet What with getting ready for Christmas and all that. Had to earn extra brownie points to go collect it, let alone tell the misses "I'm off out for a ride, see you in about 3hrs" Never had a frying pan surgically removed before. Don't fancy it much either..

Will post some photo's up as soon as she's been given a nice wash & polish..

PS someone has broken into the Vespa top box.. Still has the latch but the pin has been removed.. Any ideas where I can pick a pin up from or how I can cheap fix this... Don't think i'll ever use it as I think they ruin the lines of this gorgeous scoot... But I would like it working just in case it comes in handy

Check oopsclunkthud's web page. He designed a replacement part which you can get printed and use a particular size screw.

Have fun with the new scoot!

new scoot
Looks great. Is it all stock or will you modify it. I'd recommend a PM pipe if you do. . I agree about the top box ruining the lines, but you may as well keep it if you go travelling far afield and you need to pack stuff. I don't know how easy it is to put one on / take one off. I have a scooter canvas roll bag for my touring trips. .
Enjoy it, and hope to meet Black Beauty sometime. Gass silver machine gts 250.

Hi Gass I think I will keep it stock for now... probably add a fly screen I have my eye on.. if the exhaust gives out I will put a pm pipe on it as I sort of miss the presence a loud pipe gives you... people hear you even if they dont see you. Well they did on my ET4 anyhow... lol can never miss me on that

In the future maybe a front rack, chrome running boards and white walls but thats a way off yet.

Yeah I will keep hold of the back box for that reason... hoping to go on a little adventure this year... ill need the back box just for my hair products ha ha ha...

Cant wait to go on meets this year.. especially now im a bit more confident that the scooter I ride will make it... saving a day in the calendar for the rememberance ride also (thumbs up)

Black beauty lol ... used to love that program as a kid...

Nice! It is easy to mount or remove the top box for my GTV. If you leave the top box bracket on the rear rack, there are just four screws to fit from within the box. Two have nuts that fit into the bottom of the bracket; the other two screw into the rear rack. When the box is not mounted, the bracket holds the rear rack open. I would think the GTS can't be much different.

Hey Judy thanks still have the ET4 at the moment ...Now ive had a spin on the GTS I cant see a reason why id want to go out on the ET... May sell her in the summer or might just stick her in the back of the garage for a while and see if I can rediscover my love for her in a few years lol.
Yeah the weather isnt great at the mo but why let that stop us Razz emoticon

Trainspotters note - your 61 plate 125 has a different CVT cover design than the previous models (larger plastic housing in your model) Nerd emoticon

PS Beware the side stand tip over on the GTS...

AWESOME scoot, man! If only I could have a GTS250 in black like yours, I'd be a happy camper. (not that there's anything wrong with silver). Now get out there and ride!!!

Hi Paul

Yeah when i collected the scooter the seller warned me of the side stand issue. Stupidly i decided to give it a try for the photo shoot lol... Lucky for me just as i got back to the scoot i just caught her slipping off the side stand. Wont be doing that again....

Got to say thanks again to you mate... If you hadn't recommended the GTS (every time we spoke lol) i probably never would have invested in one. Great scoot & soooo much better than the ET4.. I must admit on my test drive the GTS felt big and clumsy, but now ive clocked up a few miles I LOVE IT !!!!
As the misses has just said " oh so he's to blame is he"? lmao Vespa widow!!

Woah, close shave on the side stand then. Just such a shame to have a tumble with the new pride and joy.

Ah, tis a real pleasure to see you get the GTS and love it Having gone from an ET to the GTS myself, I knew it was a game changer, so it was always easy to be enthusiastic about it whenever we met. You'll also start to see distant as less of an issue and you can come out to play for longer and further 8) With the higher speed of the GTS, gentle nudge to think about some armoured riding gear when your bank balance can run to it - lightly used Tucano Urbano via eBay is the way to go I'm bang to rights for Mrs Wobbly and I'll have to take the rap for that, just remind me to have my armour in if I meet her then LOL Laughing emoticon The way to bring her on side is obviously to pass the test and get her on pillion, so with you all the way on your test plans when you're ready for your next goal GTS buddy

Well done, really pleased for you

Paul

Got around to fixing the top box this weekend.. Nice easy fix.. Took about 5 mins. Did need to find a couple of extra screws to attach the fixing to the top box, but as im a bit sad I always save screws from the odd DIY job the missus has me doing EVERY WEEKEND

Thanks again Midnight Rider
