Modern Vespa

Hi guys,

I just took delivery of 2013 Vespa GTS 125 I.e. Super Red for Christmas and couldn't figure out what the plastic items and screws that are in the helmet compartment are for!

I tried to figure it out in the owners manual and in the internet but with no clue, Does anyone know?

Post a photo of the pieces. Often there is a lock cylinder for a topcase and a heavier set of bar end weights with screws. Could be windscreen mounts or some other hardware.

The second item picture shows the battery strap & this should be holding your battery in place

It's time to take the scoot back to the dealer and have them install these items properly. If they are just spare plastic, they will tell you.

The pic above looks like a cover for an opening along one of the lower sides of the scooter. Look way down. Might be something different on yours but it looks exactly like the one on mine. Can't remember which side tho. Hope that's it. Congrats on the new scooter. 8)

can you specify which item? is it item 1 or item 3?

The other item may be the battery pan. There is definitely a battery pan. Given that the dealer didn't install the strap, or the battery pan, it's possible the dealer installed the wrong battery, as in too big, so the strap and pan don't fit.

Sorry it's item 3. When i started to write my answer the pic was above my reply. Guess i was slow.

David, you are absolutely right, item number one is the battery pan and item number 2 is battery bracket.

i just installed both on my own. i also noticed that the engine coolant level is below minimum or non existent. I think the dealer forgot to do pre-delivery inspection.

I reckon photo 3 is the tool case cover - when opening the glovebox you will see a square shaped hole where the tools go - I think photo 3 is the cover - good luck

Make sure u hot the tool kit as well, especially the shock adjustment tool.

How poor is the dealer that sold you this scoot? Their attention to detail seems somewhat lacking...?

Hopefully their after sales service doesn't reflect the same attitude.
