76 Rally The motor cowl has some cool damage from brake cleaner or something, its all bubbled up and I'd like to preserve it, and box it along with the tires and battery. What cowls will fit this? I have the USA lights and their associated pin power plugs.

I only want an SX/TV/SS/Rally model. What kind of expansion pipe should I buy? My Ferrari mechanic says he just pulled four 1966 SX150 out of a container that his uncle shipped from Italy.

Neighbor is going to re-spray the whole bike for free!
Thanks for the great suggestions. My neighbor said he can paint match it perfectly and that's what I am going to do. He suggested I spray the whole bike. I'll post photos as soon as I am done. He said it will look better than original.

Please post pics of the bike as it is. Does it have the Rally stripes on it now?

Make sure to paint over all the bolts and the rails. That way the bolts and rails can be preserved.

To answer your question, I think SIP now has decent cowls for Rallys. You'd likely have to drill a couple of holes to mount your turns and wire them up. Finding original US cowls is gonna be tough, but not impossible.

Think twice before repainting the whole bike. A lot of work to do it right & often lowers the value if it's now original paint that can be saved.

Leave the hating to the professionals.

I read the part where his neighbor said 'it will look better than original.' Maybe from a distance, but I'm skeptical about even that and no way will it be, as you say, better than new.

No amateur hating here, I'm just trying to gently steer somebody who seems to care about the bike in the direction that will probably make them happiest in the long run. What are you doing here?

Paint
I know, most likely I will ride it before I find an alternative and knock off the cool blister of paint by accident and be done with it. I know its fucked up to like the look of that. I just want to know my options. The acid or what ever also broke down the plastic on the turn signal base. I need one of those. This one looks like it will be dangling sooner than later.

If this were a P200 and was in the same shape, I'd be the same way, I think. I think its cool like it is and I also appreciate it's stupid to pretend its something its not. Any one know the SIP part no? I looked for some time on their site and so far not been able to locate it. Appreciate it. L

The parts being sold by this guy? http://s30.photobucket.com/user/leratmort/profile

I can't tell, viewing the pictures of parts on Scoot.net, whether he is taking apart a Nammer and parting out or just selling parts from one. That OKO carburetor is probably a pos.

Maybe. Well whatever it was, it sure went fast. Did you get it, Lango? Guy claimed it was NEW, still in PRIMER and made in ITALY and it looked good in the one pic. Doesn't sound or look like pick-a-bodge to me. He did say that carb was from VN.

Peace.

V oodoo Awesome Thank You.
I had checked the scoot juts about an hour before. I did get the cowl. Eric at 2nd Ave in Phx said he knows Dean and thinks it should be ok. Thank you again for the wake up call.
