There was a great thread on what you were possibly getting your bike for the holidays, but now that Boxing Day is upon us, let's see the kindness (and sometimes oddity) of the loving gifs of relatives to your sport of choice!

Mine were awesome this year (then again, I tend to think my family is better than every one else's Razz emoticon). Aside from some great movies, books and a few work-related audio gear, I did end up with:

A DVD set and companion book to "Long Way Round" From my brother and sister in law! Now, I know BMW Purists love to bash this series, but I absolutely love it. I watched this front to back during my recovery from cancer surgery AND during my abdominal reconstruction surgery. We'd all like to be that rich to do a trip like that, but it really is just fun to watch. That and I am a pretty solid Charley Boorman fan.

New Bluetooth communicator for the helmet from my wife!!! Finally, I can be pestered by musicians, directors and stagehands at ALL hours! (Honestly, it's really cool.)

I also received a Haynes shop manual for the LX/GTS/GTV series Vespas. Considering how many bugs this lemon has, I'm going to need it.

The rest was audio engineering tools and movies (I dig 'em, but they're probably boring as hell for the rest of you)

So, how did the rest of the family treat you? Thankfully I didn't get one comment on how I'm going to die on the bike or another story about how someone's 2nd-cousin-twice-removed was beheaded on a motorcycle in the 70's so they think they should all be banned (got several of those stories LAST year from the in-law's extended members. I just spent the time trying to one-up the Harley rider of the family).

And, for my little nephew, I just had to get him a proper Specials "Rude Boy" T-shirt

(Kind of hard to see... sorry)

Last year he got a ton of Harley/Sons of Anarchy type stuff from his grandfather. I wasn't about to let my nephew be influenced by such garbage Razz emoticon

Silk undergloves for the cold months ahead and a vespa badge from my son.
My family contributed a few quid towards some new gear. I'm after a decent Jacket as my Buffalo has a dodgy zip that keeps coming undone on long journeys. Think I've enough for a decent Tucano Urbano and some ballistic jeans. Please drop me a line if you see any decent (UK) offers on either.

Freeze out knee warmers since the hardware put in after my accident earlier this winter does not like the cold in any way, shape or form.

Our Sports City will be getting a spare set of rims and all season tires for the Scooter Cannonball.

Wife and kids got me a torque wrench. I guess she's tired of me and my neighbor crackin' beers, "fixing stuff" on the GTV, then putting it back together and listening to us say "That should be about 52 lbs. Damn, we're out of beer." I have no idea why she doesn't trust me to work on her Rover! Other family gave me cash to put towards go-fast upgrades. Either Malossi head, Dr Pulley clutch. So many choices!!

Well for my birthday in November my family got me a 61 vbb (We're the same age) and I haven't post photo's yet since it's not road worthy yet.
But soon!

So this Christmas's gifts included:
Center mat
Center Mat metal strips
Grey Cowl gaskets
Third hand tool
Carb rebuild kit
Complete cable set
Floor rail set

Just gotta tune the carb
Hopefully tomorrow I can run it around the block!

That's a great starter tool set. You'll be able to add the other items you need as you encounter them. I started with a set like that from Sears 40 years ago. Still a big fan of craftsman tools. By the way... I still have most of those sockets and wrenches in my tool chest today that came in my original starter kit.

Looks like the set I got years ago too - and that I still have. Keep them dry and clean them when you're done with each job and they'll last forever.

I didn't get any PTW related Christmas gifts. But these fell in my lap in early December. Santa must not have wanted to haul them around on his sleigh until the 25th. They are a little heavy. 50's era Harley-Davidson 74" cylinders. These have never been bored oversize.

Unfortunately one has damage from a wrist pin keeper coming loose. I'll need to go +0.020" to clean it up. But that's not a big deal on stock cylinders. The cylinders I currently have on the bike are +0.080" and really can't be bored again.

A set of Tucano Urbano winter gloves and a riding course with the Metropolitan police in London. Basically I chose both gifts. The riding thing is meant to be good fun, with a police bike following you all day, encouraging you to 'open it up' to see your real riding. At least if any cagers decide to 'have a go', I've got my very own policeman for a few hours.

Awesome. I got into it today and really can see and feel a difference between these tools and the more average set I have. I have some minor routine maintenance coming up and am looking forward to turning these things. Hopefully I get years of good service out of them same as you guys
