Does anyone have 2 sets of full face leathers they don't want for 2 blokes. One to fit a well built guy 5ft 6 and a slightly less well built guy 5ft 7.
Spike and I are working on something.

Used to, but they went to a track day addict some years back.
I do have a set of leather salopettes, like leather trousers with a bib top that I inherited with an impulse-buy Harley a few years ago. They are earmarked for a discardia donation to the local MAG branch to flog on but if they are of any use you can have them. |

It's a nice thought but it's a full set of race leathers we need ie unbroken at the waist in case it rides up during an accident.
Having said that are they Harley stamped ? Bill x |

Bill x Porl Thompson ex guitarist of The Cure gave me some brand new chaps a couple of years back. He'd bought them to wear on his Harley but got them home and couldn't face wearing them in public (which when you look at some of his stage outfits speaks volumes). They were seriously dodgy looking. I gave them straight to MAG and they hung them up at Brightona. They hadn't even thought of a price when someone strolled up with a fistful of £20s and ran off with them as happy as can be. |

Let me see if that's safe to use on a race track.
When I was at Brands Hatch only one pieces suits were allowed. Bill x |

I sent this to Bill but thought I would add this here for anyone interested in racing. I used a 2 piece zip-togather suit for a couple of years while racing streetluge, "actually I used one up and was on my second suit when I quit" Most of us wore the zip suits and we crashed all the time. It was always the same crash too, lying on your back, sliding feet first at 70mph. In all those wrecks I never saw a single suit separate at the zipper. Not saying it can't happen, but I honestly saw probably 50 plus wrecks over the years and never saw one fail. Fair warning though, wear something underneath your leathers. We had a guy in the summer wearing boxers and nothing else under his leathers. Had a LONG slide at about 75mph down a steep hill and the zipper got hot enough from the friction to brand a zipper mark on his lower back lol.
Edited to add the type of racing we did, streetluge. |
