Modern Vespa

Hi I have been browsing this forum for a while now and have found it very useful so have taken the plunge and signed up. I have recently bought a new Vespa 300 Super Sport in matt black which is my 4th GT/GTS since 2004. I also own a 2002 Vespa PX200 in Vintage Green. Pics attached. Other than the fuel pump issue and the exhaust gaskets blowing I have had no problems with the GTSs but have noticed that the paintwork underneath is very thin on the latest purchase and may attract the dreaded rust. For folk in the UK & others encountering wet and salt etc I would recommend chip guarding and under sealing the underneath. I have also removed glove box, floor and battery to waxoyl in particular around the front seam area. All this for £4k but still a sucker for the brand!

Thanks. Certainly up for meets and ride outs within reasonable distance of Telford in Shropshire. I normally attend the Vintage and Custom show just outside of Coventry every year. I see that it's on 30th March this year. is this something that UK MV folk attend ?

Welcome fella, your right to rust proof, i went to look at a 2 year old GTS a couple of weeks ago that was on its way out under the belly pan, i used ACF 50 the last time i did one, seemed to do the trick. A front mud flap helps alot too, buster.
