Modern Vespa

Last year I collected up the major UK rallies, some Midlands events and the Donkei Skok meets, put them in one list and posted it up. So here's this years list so far in the same format

I've marked some events as *Possible* based on last years date and where this years date isn't confirmed yet. Where I get new info I'll update the list and add flyers in as separate posts. If you have info or more events feel free to post them up. Last years list is here with some photos and video of some of last years meets -> UK Rallies and Events 2013 Events in blue were good ones for UK MVers and Donkei Skok riders

Hi chaps, my New Years resolution is go to a few rallies but Having not been on a rally yet I was wondering what the attitude/atmosphere was between autos and geared scoots. Having an et4 are we as welcome or are we alienated .

BB7, just check your date for the Newark rallie, i think its on the weekend of the 20th - 22nd of june, not 13th - 15th, well acording to the LCGB it is, regards, buster.

Pretty much universally accepted at all scooter rallies nowadays. There's still the odd Luddite 'proper scooter' commentators, but just like the dinosaurs, they will eventually meet their destiny

Thanks for posting. In 2010 we rented Vespas and made it to the Weston Rally, and hooked up with the Salisbury Scooterists. We might be headed to the UK again this summer, considering another rally. We would love to do something close to Cornwall.

Weston is on again in July, but Woolacombe in North Devon in September is closer to Cornwall and the south West of England

I can't do September as I teach high school, ( European history of all things). We would be there between the end of June and beginning of August.

Great London Ride Out 2014 now confirmed as Sunday 1st June 2014, meeting at Regents Park and going to Southend. A great day that several UK MVers and Donkei Skok SC did last year, well worth repeating 8)

If you spent some time in London and rented Vespas there, there's bound to be a few events on, plus a dozen or so of us will be at the Italian Day meet in the list above that you could join. If not, we'd just come and meet up with you anyway...

Hi Chriso , most rallies are all inclusive for the scooting fraternity. There is one London one tha goes from Shoreditch and ends up at the Scooter cafe on Lower Marsh behind Waterloo. I'll try and remember what it is for you. That one is strictly geared scoots. But I still go visit on my GTS auto. I make my way to Lower Marsh, and wait for them to turn up, usually if the weather is good about 200 scoots. I like took at them, but I let them be for their ride. All the other ones are good. I don't know where you are based but I like the Hastings rally organised by the 1066 scooter club, The ace cafe run to Southend, The Bar Italia from the London Eye to Greenwich, The Carnaby st ride out to the Strong rooms in Shoreditch, The Ride of remembrance, from Regents Park to Fulham run by Fulham Wasps. There's a Brighton Mod rally too. There's lots of other good ones, just turn up, have a look and a chat. There's nothing competitive,I've been to some loopy ones as well. Some up north and the coast. Most have a bit of music at the other end and and some food and scooter bits stalls. I've been to a few camping ones as well, my recent favourites are Mersea Island and one in Kent run by the Big 7 scooter club. When you are at one of hese rallies there are always fliers being handed out for new gatheriings, and sometimes prizes, including ones for autos. Also check Scootering mag for all the rallies...AND OF COURSE, some of the Donkeisok ones. Join in and enjoy. Gass silver machine gts 250

Seriously, at the smaller meets we run, that's absolutely what happens. There's often a separete thread for detailed plans. At the bigger meets, we normally share PMs or texts or something, describe a few people, scoot colours etc and generally work it out to find any new people and say hello. You can normally spot a few MV stickers etc too. You'll be welcomed - you can keep MV regular Bill Dog company with your BV.

Yup, definitely. Scooter Sunday is 30 March. Are GTS-OC thinking of a separate meet point before heading to Ace? (or we could sort that out?). Ace gets rammed early if the weathers good (snow last year!) so if we just say 'see you there' we'll just be spread all over...

That'll be a good event to get some new London MVers out too 8)

The Wasps of London Scooter Club are proud to announce they will be the new organisers of Kickstart 2014 - meeting at the London Eye 10:30 AM and leaving at 12 noon. Rideout will turn right towards Westminster Bridge, scoot North over the Bridge and left onto the Embankment - passing many of London's iconic sites including Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Tate Gallery, Battersea Park & Power Station, Chelsea Embankment - turning left onto the Kings Road stopping at the final destination - The Southern Cross pub on the new Kings Road Fulham (please note the pub has been refurbished - under new management - and called the Eel Brook) Plenty of parking opposite in the common - Guest D.J.'s and food available. Wasps would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick and the Bar Italia Scooter Club for fantastic efforts putting on this Event over the past few years and making this event such a popular rideout - and shall carry on the good work !!

I'm away on 6th so can't make it, dang! Its normally a good day...

'Twas a great day last year...should be able to squeeze this in as a run before prepping the GTS for Italy 8)

That's about 10 mins from me so we went last year, and erm...wasn't that impressed tbh, but they're running it again so maybe it was just me. As it is, we're in Italy for World Vespa.

I guess we all have our own 'tastes'/'preferences' etc. I enjoyed it myself.

I had a bunch of early Lammies on display in the 'shop'.
