I took the plunge into the innards of Simona today. A little daunting as I had not had to tap into the brake light power line under the seat for the BV250 install (plenty of room in the taillight for the modulator).

So, I looked at the wiring diagram for the LX150 from the workshop manual and decided I needed to tap into the white and black wire.

Now, I just had to find it in the under-seat area. I did find a couple of white and black wires that were not it - then I looked a little more closely and found a wrapped bundle that appeared to head to the back end of the scoot. I sliced into the bundle and found what I was looking for - the yellow and black and white and black run into the tail light - so I knew I was in the right bundle. I snipped the white and black - installed butt end connectors and then tested the back-off prior to crimping the back off wires (good thing too ) - the included photos tell the story - should be exactly the same for an LX150

I did tape up the bundle again after the install and also zip tied the back off wires after taping to the frame - just to be sure.

Wow! Thanks for this write-up. I am planning to install the Back Off XP on my GT and my wife's LX150 TODAY! I was also planning on finding an under-seat location, since the tail light area has no room t hide it in.

I know what you mean - I originally intended to install this in the tail light area of the LX - no dice due to no space - This position works out well - just took a little trial and error

Good luck!

Yeesh! After finally finding the correct brake light wire, I found that my Back Off! XP module's wires were incorrect. Either the directions were wrong, or the incorrect wires were connected at the factory. Took me an extra half hour to figure it out. Works fine now.[/i]
