There's a loud mouth of a guy down here...always means well....but fuck...I can only handle so much of him. ZACH SHELTON...

love him to death

anyhow....he's doing transport in a covered trailer 10-12 bikes at 225.00 (from Upland) and like 300.00 (from your home in LA-like area) a pop if anybody is interested. Just wanted to give people a heads up that need the means for transport.

Sorry....I wouldn't know if the event blows or not. I've never gone. I don't do Vegas. Too many old bad vices in one spot for me. I just wanted to pass info along if anybody needed it.

I thought the whole point was to ride these things. I remember using a car to transport bicycles to a race back in the day, but a motorized street legal bike? I don't get it. According to Google, it's only 270 miles from LA to Vegas.

It would make sense in that case then I guess. It just seems that if the distance isn't ridden, maybe there's no point.

Yeah, I agree. This seems to be a more UK version of scootering (as far as rallies go). But the USA is huge. Sometimes hauling scooters is the only way you'll make it. High Rollers is okay if you go with your friends and do your own thing. But it can be a bit convoluted and difficult to navigate the rally as an "event." You'll see piles of scooterists here and there with everyone waiting for someone to tell them where everyone is going. Anyone going this year: Count how many times you hear someone ask where the ride is going or who is going or when are you going. I went to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th HR Weekend. Your resources are better spent on supporting a local rally.

Ain't that the truth. Fortunately, I'm sober so I would just be drinking a bunch of water and then piss a lot.

What I was trying to convey was that if you go to HR Weekend you should concentrate on bringing your friends and planning your day with them. There are a lot of scooterist who show up and stand there at the edge of the parking lot with the idea that "fun" had been set aside for them at the bottom of their rally pack along with a sticker and a XXXL tshirt.

That's all too true...

When I was at the SF Classic this past year.. it occurred to me that if I could sum up a rally in a single body posture it would be this:

I saw this pose more times than I could count.. Standard issue rally stuff though... goes along with "Rides Leaves 11am SHARP"

Cut to: riders leaving the lot at 2 - 2:30!

sitting on the side of the road waiting for the rest of the pack!

I'm sitting at a cafe right now going through apartment leases and about 12 riders on the Big Wet One inter-club rally went by: 4 motorcycles, 6 twist and gos, 2 vintage scooters (one was a P).

Vegas was a righteous city to ride in n out of. The nite ride thru dtown is amazing......you don't even need street lights the neon and shit is frikkin bright.

The day ride to the lake is long and cool and theres always Hoover.

It is good to have a circle of budz there to rally up ideas so youre not lookin at the flock for shit to do.

I shot this the only time I went and most of the people mugging the camera are my buddies.

Don't know bout this year. Ive been enjoying a lot of little rides around here....

Hey! I am only an XXL!

Srsly, the only thing I have heard about High Rollers is keep your bike in your room if you like it.

The year I was there, at least 3 bike were stolen.

Jimmy..... That contraption for your camera looks like something from Medieval Times. I watched your video eating a turkey leg, wondering when my wench cometh with my Ale!

No but For reals.......I like the that vantage point much rather than the POV shot from a gopro!

Can you imagine Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Jack Nicholson packing up their choppers on a trailer hooked up to an RV headed for a bikers convention? The movie wouldn't be quite the same.

As far as I know, Peter, Dennis, and Jack weren't riding in Thailand. I think it was Merica. Anyway, they probably had a fully supported film crew van riding alongside. So, it's a moot argument. I surrender.

I had fun at HR this year. Got back into this scene after many years away. It was good to see familiar faces and nice scoots. I didn't have a scoot at the time but did feel like I would be worried all night if I did have one there left unattended.

The club on Sat night was a blast, dancing was great!

And I think someone crapped in the tub at the party that night, or so I heard. Neat!

I went too and was at that party. The tub crapping was gross. Smelled bad and the guy just sat in it. UGH! But the event was fun, although a little unorganized as SFvsr said.
