Last October my GTV-300 was stolen, then recovered. It was beaten up bad. My local shop worked on it for a while, had problems getting it working, but I ended up trading it back to them for a new LXV-150ie. I'm loving it! I've had it for a week or two, and just got some new goodies for it....I replaced the mirrors with some bar end type (thanks to a thread on here from a few years ago) and a small Givi box so far.
I haven't missed the GTV yet, really. I find I can ride two up no problem around town with the wife. I generally don't take it on the highway, I live in a small town and don't need to.
My GTV was espresso and I loved that color, so went with it again.
Here she is.

Yeah spiffy looking scooter. Do you miss the extra power of the 300?

I stepped down from a GTS to an LX (my second) last year. I really like the LX as an around town bike. In fairness, I do not ride it two-up and I have a BV 350 for longer distances, but I do think the LX hits a sweet spot of weight and balance. Enjoy your new ride!

Teapottime-I wasn't sure about the functionality of the bar end mirrors but they're great...just as easy to get the rear view instant readout as the top styles.

As to missing the power of the GTV, I haven't yet. When I got the GTV a few years ago, I envisioned long trips on it. However, they never materialized (well, on two wheels that is). After all, on trips I have to take 2 dogs and my wife so I have a van for that.

For me, I get around town to work and play and park free on sidewalks, and rarely need to hit 50 mph. I've hit it plenty, but only to have to screech to a halt for a stoplight.

I've had some heavy motorcycles in the past, and I do want one...maybe a new Triumph, but really you can't beat the 150 (masquerading as a 50 around town!

Thanks Dooglas - try your LX two up sometime, it's surprisingly capable and fun. My wife thinks it's almost as comfortable (if it had better footrests for the passenger, I'm looking into that) then it would be.

My partner is not much of a two-up rider. She rides the Buddy when I ride the LX. Nice around town combo. She also likes the lower riding position of the Buddy so everyone is happy.

You didn't trade down you traded up. 8) Our LX'S don't get much cred but i think their the best scooter out there. Who needs freeway driving when your on a Vespa. If i needed to go long distances fast i'd be in a car. Your going to have a lot of fun with it (him or her). Love the color also. Beautiful in person. Have fun.

Gorgeous scooter. Glad something good came out of your misfortune.

You know, all this 150 love is making me a little crazy. I adore mine, but have at times just wanted a little more speed. Pretty much talked myself into a splurge for a 300 in the near future, but you all keep pulling me back to reality.

...and my wife tells me a second scooter means a bigger house.

I completely agree. I don't see the LX as limiting. It's more than fast enough and I have a trailer if I really want to go 85.
