We were down in Pensacola over the weekend at my parents house. The Duc and the Fly are wintering there. I rode the Duc and noticed the number of waves from other PTW riders was about 10% more than when I took the Fly on the same route out to the Beach. Fly got more miles as it carried more stuff from Lowe's, Publix, and The Pensacola Bay Brewery.

Did you get many retracted waves where people start to wave, then realize you're on a scooter and pull their hand back? I get those on the Vespa from time to time.

Funny but so true. When I'm on my Ducati or Harley, every Barney on 2 wheels wants to wave. When I cruise my scoot, no waves and sometimes the retraction.

Oh and my wave for retractions caught in action. No matter what you're riding

^This on my motorcycle laden commute daily.^

I laugh out loud every time someone realized it too late and frantically yanks their arm down.

I get waves from almost every harley-type rider I pass. And we've got quite a few riders around Sanford. I got lots of props during Bike Week too. It's the sportsbike riders that don't wave. In my experience, anyway.

I did get a few retractions, followed by turning their heads away. Interesting note was that Harley riders all waved at both vehicles, while none of the Goldwing riders could be bothered. I wonder how much difference there is across the country?

On the MP3 I get hesitant WTF waves.
