Modern Vespa

Any help with this,scooter tops at 50mph,it is1994, 12000miles,and standard ,t5 can go quicker than this any recommendations also has sito plus fitted a nd i want to keep it standard.

New piston rings should do it horse. T5 need rings changing more often than others due to how thin they are and the high revving nature of the motor . Maybe a new exhaust depending on its condition. But it's probably fine, the original t5 exhausts are excellent quality

Piston should be grand with that mileage. But your gonna have to whip of the top end to replace the rings anyway so you may as well check the piston and barrel. If it hadn't been seized a new set of rings will do. A t5 with its engine in good order should do about 65mph

Check the basic stuff like new spark plug, clean air filter, clean the carb and take it for a spin. Put new gas too. Maybe the timing is off but you should be at least at 60mph. Another thing that could b misleading is the speedometer being off.
