Hey guys,

I have bought a 1973 VLB 150 Sprint. It's a cool looking little bike but it needs some work done.

I'm looking for some advice about the best way to restore it. The paint is chipped so I want to strip the bike and respray it. If I'm taking it back to the basic frame should I replace all the wiring etc?

So far I have taken off all the metal, lights, petrol tank, rubber, exhaust, side arches. I'm up to the steering column.

Any advice on where to get high grade parts at a low cost?

The spray job has been quoted at $650 if I break the bike down. Is this a good price? What are the original paint colours and how should I get it finished?

I live in Sydney and would like to meet up with anyone who has restored these bikes in the past.

Any all all advice is welcome.

Welcome to MV. I moved this from the Wiki to Project Reports. Good luck with it.

Hi KDMR. Welcome to MV... check out the Not-So-Modern section for all the help you need for the project. Are you new to Vespas?

For parts try GPS imports in Melbourne. Has a basic range and a difficult website.
For all the bells and whistles OS try sip-scootershop.com, scooter-center.com and beedspeed.com. I've found the postage from the US shops way more expensive than the European-based ones.
