hi I just purchased a vespa et2 for my wife it has only 846 miles on it and it looks like it was dumped a few times. when I got it I was told there was a fue system problem so took the vespa to my shop cleaned it up replaced all fuel and oil lines, cleaned carb, checked the reed looked good, fuel tap works oil pump works and repaced gas and oil. then found out I had no spark replaced CDI now I have spark! put bike starts revs really high drops to idle for mayb 10 seconds then dies also if I turn the throttle nothing happens.!!!!

Check the intake manifold for cracks. It sounds like it might be an air leak. That's the rubber tube between the carb and the motor.
