Time for a set of new shocks for the Super. New front spring too.

What's a decent set up?

High speed cornering and curb jumping aren't part of the Super's repertoire, so we don't really need one of the mega expensive hi-performance gas-filled infinitely adjustable titanium units. Save that for the next bike. 8)

Just something that can take a pothole without rattling your teeth. A step up from stock maybe.

Thanks, as usual.

check SIP for options
the SIP brand looks great for price

if you order via a place or person that gets a discount then the shipping is a mute point

that is what we do up here in the NW

I went for a standard but slightly stiffer front shock (carbone maybe) and a yss rear on my super, both from sip.

it gave a much better ride than the worn out front / lml rear socks the replaced, and I'd buy the same again.

Thanks, the YSS sounds like a good choice. Others have recommended the SIP performance shocks. What about a new spring up front? When you say the new shocks gave a better ride, how exactly? Honestly, I'm too new to scooters to even know for sure if the shocks on our bike are actually worn out. I just know every bump and pothole goes right up through the hand grips. Would be nice to smooth the ride out a bit, but maybe that's not possible.

I put Carbones on my PX. Big step up from stock. Probably nowhere near as good as the fancy ones but a shit load cheaper.

the scooter feels smoother, much better in the corners and I can now ride 2 up without bottoming out. it really feels better all round. the front end dives a lot less under braking too.

I kept the same front spring, but it's probably not a bad idea to replace it

I've never heard about any of those cheapish socks being any better than the others, I just bought the yss because it had 5 preload settings and wasn't a horrible colour. I imagine you'd be happy with whatever you choose, compared to the original setup

I have Carbones on my smallframe. Work great and the price was right.

If your front end is bouncing up and down like a pogo stick after a pothole, the shocks are gone. If they're leaking, gone. If the whole front dives dramatically under braking, gone. To get a better perspective, ride a Allstate. You will kiss the front forks after that crazy ride.

Good to hear. Definitely like the price of the Carbones. They may be the ones.

SoCal, what did you end up getting? I'm in the same boat: Carbone vs YSS at SIP.
