I was just looking at different spare parts for the MP3 on EBay and came across this...
"Piaggio MP3 Business LT 500 Motorcycle MAGNUM Dyno-Boost Motorcycle Performance Chip"

Seems interesting but do you think it works and is it worth the money?

I like the chart

generic dyno chart for a 100 hp normally aspirated engine.
But yet its for a mp3, hmmm the 500 is less than 45 hp so really folks who are you blowing smoke to. Even if they did a true test on a mp3 the gain would be what maybe 1hp if they are lucky. Hold on to your bars over that.

I came across these over two years ago when they cost less than $50 US. They didn't work then, not likely to work now.

I completely agree with Maksor.

I've seen these type around for a few years -- typically they wire in to the air intake sensors and skew the readings, making the vehicle run rich. They work okay (3-5% improvement) on a open-loop system that is turned lean to begin with.
For anything else... no results other than clogged catalytic converters and dead oxygen sensors.
For the seller, they are a great deal -- 1-2 $ of parts, sold for $100-200 dollars.

Not to take over the Thread...
But I have a question on the same line.

What about these devices that Mallosi and others sell that go between to override the Piaggio Computer. Suggested when you change your Exhaust... Is this also Questionable?

Here is an example Link of a Product.

looks like that is a bit of a different beast. It changes rev limitations, and emulates lambda sensor. Lambda sensor is the oxygen sensor, so this would change your bike from a closed loop system to an open loop system. It also contains mapping for non-stock crankshaft.

Makes sense if your setup has the malossi crank, or can't fit the oxygen sensor anymore.
probably would improve speed and power some, at the cost of more emissions and mileage.

My opinion of malossi is they don't sell snake oil. Up to the buyer if the cost of their stuff is a good value for the changes in performance. I haven't found any Malossi gear for my rides that the price/performance ratio matches my wants/budget.
