Hi I need some info for years my friends have had a hobby which I would very much like to get involved in they all have vespa scooters and get involved in a lot of activities sadly I have not been able to join them 20 years I've been missing out The problem is and I've never asked the question is I was born with fingers missing on my left hand I am left with a thumb and part of a finger people have told me I can have something adapted I can ride a scooter no problem but I can only use front brake holding on to handle bars is no problem I want to buy a vespa gts 125 and take a cbt but I am a bit embarrassed they may turn me away Any thoughts

You can have a bike adapted so that both brakes work off the RH lever, or even a foot-brake installed - but in the first instance contact NABD, the National Association for Bikers with a Disability:
http://www.nabd.org.uk/

They should be able to tell you what can be done, and give support.

You should also ask your local CBT testing establishment - they are run by bikers and I'm sure they will try to find a way for you to get the CBT under your belt.

There are quite a few one-armed bikers around, so it's not out of the question for you.

Let us know how you get on.

LIKE ME! Failed my CBT by going to pull out on the opposite side of the road!

Go for it as long as you're confident and comfortable on the bike and YOU know you can ride it then they would have no reason to not pass you! Good luck
