Went for my 10000km (6200 miles) today. Fortunately my GTS300 is still under warranty because it needs:
Two new wheels (pitting on rims)
One new damper
One new wheel bearing
One horn switch
Probably a new throttle body (diagnostics outstanding)
In addition I'm on my third exhaust gasket.
The bike is just 18 months old and at 61 I don't abuse it.
BTW the front seams are rusty.
Unlucky or is this a sign of slipping quality?
Seems to me that the worst possible thing Vespa can do is let the quality get any worse - this is supposed to be a premium product with a price to match.
PS the dealer told me that the GTS is to be upgraded with ABS and LED lighting from later this year (we don't have model years in the UK) so that will bump up the price more.

The dealer's diagnostics guy was off sick hence the outstanding check, the problem being stalling at idle. Having been critical I'm still thinking of px'ing to avoid the hassle so it looks like I'm hooked

My '03 ET2 just went in for it's 673 mile/11-year service (haha) a good 3 weeks ago & I haven't seen or heard from it since. All I hear is it takes a week to get parts in & I apparently needed a coil & stator among other things. Must have been a rough 673 miles. Actually, I'm assuming it somehow degraded in the garage out of neglected loneliness. I'll post some pics once I get her back on the road...if the shop hasn't sold her into slavery without me knowing.

I know that there are many faultless 300's out there with great paint, consistent electrics,un oxidised laquer and other stuff.

Sadly mine wasn't one of them.

You're right to be peeved, as that list's way to long. Probably good to swap it out.
FWIW the pitted rims and front seam rust are about par for the course unfortunately. No guarantee you might not eventually have both on your new one, many have (see threads). Neither seem to have been addressed by Piaggio, maybe they will be with the new model GTS, though that'll be cold comfort for all the GTS owners out there...
