Hi all

My bike passed its mot yesterday, had to have the rear brake adjusted which I knew needed doing, they said the managed to adjust it but its not perfect and could probably do with a new cable soon.

Is it a PITA to remove the body panels required to replace it?

I'm assuming the handlebar cover which I'm fine with, the panel around the glove box and the floor?

Any tips on a how to would be great

It's not particularly difficult, and you get to find all those washers you dropped ages ago and had forgotten about.

I think cable is on its way out, feels bad again, having to pull the lever quite far to apply the brakes. May attempt to adjust it again but they did that at the MOT and advised me to get a new cable at some point soon.

So..

Headset off

Glove box section off?

Floor section off?

Then just a case of removal at either end and routing the new cable?

Will a new cable come complete in the surround too?

Cheers

Mine snapped 6 years ago and we replaced it. Can't remember what we did(brain has to much info in there and kicks stuff out occasionally Laughing emoticon ). Wasn't the biggest PIA we've done tho. Getting the front fender off and a new one one was the biggest. Poor Leo looked like a weed whacker. We had to replace the steering bearings also. Rusted to the max. I do think the glove box needs to come off and maybe the floorboards. Trace the cable and see where it goes. The GB is easy but can't remember about the floorboard. Good luck

Yeah, the cable is complete with an outer.

This shows you how to pull the bits off
