First- thank you all for always answering newbie questions... This forum is one of kindest -most helpful that I have been on for assistance or to answer other peoples- questions in life... And a special thanks Clap emoticon to modernvespa.com!

Reached the 10,000 km mark this week. Clown emoticon

Trying to reduce the time the scooter is down for a service checkup... I have had a local mechanic do a lot of the items needed replaced. It will be a 6 hr trip round trip - if it's done in one day.

Q. How long past the 10,000 km can I put this check up off - doing most of the replacements by my mechanic?

Q. Do you think they can do all the check up's in one day or what is the average time down?

Q. Can any of these be done by the shade tree mechanic?
Need is: Parking control unit software upgrading, tilt locking cable adjustment, steering check, suspension-check, vehicle- brake -road test, electrical system check, throttle lever adjustment.

Q. Do I just give them a list of what needs checked/done since I have replace a lot of items already (tires, belt, etc.) or how does that work?

Q. Will personal modifications like a What The? emoticon "fuzzy washer mod" or "led lighting mod" - local tweaks done to my scooter - piss em off at the service checkup?

Again...thanks in advanced and so sorry for all the questions but hopefully this will help others down the road. Nerd emoticon

Others may disagree, but I have never had any of this done: Parking control unit software upgrading, tilt locking cable adjustment, steering check, suspension-check, vehicle- brake -road test, electrical system check, throttle lever adjustment. I am over 14,000 miles right now.

The brakes are normally obvious when they need to be changed (squealing, not stopping properly, etc.)

As far as giving them a list of what has been done, in the IT field this is useful to us when diagnosing a problem but not necessary otherwise.

If you have never had the steering bearings torqued or lubed (or done it yourself), you are making a serious mistake.

I have, but I did not see this listed on her to-do list so I did not mention it.
