Hi all, just picked up a big box full of bits off a mate which he says is a vespa et2 50cc lol,the story goes a guy used to use it to go to the pub and one night after to many shandies crash it into a ditch,it bent the front fork so my mate bought it stripped it down ready to respray and fit a new front,he got as far as stripping it and bought the front end and done some prep then must have lost interest or didn't have the time and give it to me,here are a few pics of what iv'e got, clocks say its done 4081miles so im not sure how long its been in the box!

I'm thinking your first step is to inventory your (many) parts & see if you actually have everything before you start trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I hope the guy who crashed it didn't end up in so many pieces. Any clue what year that sucker is? I've got an '03 ET2 but I'm mechanically challenged so I may not be much help.

Thanks for the welcomes guys,i did find the v5 in the box its a 2002 also found the keys there are so many parts not sure if i could work out if i had them all,iv'e bought a new battery and a exhaust off a mate today as i haven't seen them in any boxes, the exhaust i bought looks pretty smart its a leo vince make, also bought a weber carb as thats missing was looking at putting different jet/jets in it and a different air filter then that's it for modifying,iv'e modified alot of things in the past and don't want to go to far with is one engine wise.

Most show up with shinny new scoots or a new scoot in a it's shipping box. IMO - This has to be the best if not the most original intros...

Welcome and all that.
One thing's for sure. If you ever put that thing together you'll sure know how to fix it yourself. P.S. I think I see a face where the paint has rubbed off the cowl. Better call the T.V. guys. |

Hello, nice to meet you. That looks like quite a project. On the plus side, when you're done you will know that scooter better than just about anything else you will ever own. Hopefuly you will love it too. Post pics of your progress. I am considering the purchase of an old Vespa in boxes for a project myself. I need some motivation!

I don't often work on jigsaw puzzles, but when I do, I like to work on a four thousand and seventy three-piece Vespa.
Good luck bro. I'm thinking this thread is one of the most deserving to be included in the 'Project Reports' section, if for no other reason than you don't even know what you may be missing yet. And lets face it...you KNOW you gotta be missing something, right? Keep up the good work. |

looks like im head first in the bin tomorrow! i have been finding other parts in the boxes from cars and other bikes, i come across something that looked like a car dash stereo center so threw it in the bin, looking at scooter pics online and i think it was a part that goes under the seat!
