Having sold my P200/sidecar rig a while back I am missing it now. I see a Stella 2T with a sidecar for sale locally. Does anybody have any experience or info or rumors or gossip about this combo? India doesn't spring to mind as a source of quality motor vehicles. Am I wrong?

The Stella is a decent enough mount. There some problems with them that are well documented and will show up in a search. Such as, about 10% are going to trash the lower end crank before 5000 miles. The rubber bits - all of them - will disintegrate within a few years, especially in the Florida sun. Some of the disc brake lines are a bit dodgy. They really are not designed to pull a hack. The P200 has a better chance at that. There are other things that drove me a little crazy when I owned one, but I have kinda blocked it out of my mind. Mental health and all that. Mine was a 2003 and I put 15,000 miles it in two years . By then I was ready to move on and let someone else have fun with it. If you have some specific questions that you would like answered, you should PM Rob Hodge who hangs out on the NSM side. There is probably no one on here that knows more about Stellas than him. Good Luck

I just got my wife the Stella Auto based on lots of research and the fact that she liked the look. Fit and finish are excellent...and while not as peppy as my LX150...the Stellas have been around for years and are unlike a lot of the plastic crap that comes out of the far east and LML has a pretty goood reputation in Europe with essentially the same product. At $3500 MSRP... they are not cheap for what they are.
As to the sidecar...the shop that sold me the Stellauto...just added a sidecar to the 4T that they had in stock and the mechanic is using it with good results and including the optional rain cover which folds back and away neatly.
That sells for about 2k I think.
More of a novelty than a need I think...but it is well constructed and attaches nicely.
There are probably some good deals on 4T's right now since the auto125's came out.
Hope this helps.

The Stella 2T is an older design that requires some care to keep running well. It also does not have the power of a P200 and the difference is especially noticeable when pulling a hack. The Stella and Cozy combo does fine if you don't have high expectations regarding performance. Actually the 4T Stella has a bit more power output and torque, but it is not a real powerhouse either.
