So... a couple of friends and I ....took a trip to Many, Louisana last Saturday. The night before the town suffered a tornado with lots of damage. We arrived not realizing they had suffered from high winds. For a first time -long day trip it was exciting but I was wore out at the end of the day.

I suffer from handlebar palsy grrrrrr also called computer work palsy.... or guyon's palsy. After about 40minutes riding... I start having some burning, swelling, aching in the wrist & palms? Putting some softer handle bar grips on scoot and bought the crampbuster.

I had no idea the Spyder's wheels were so small. They look to be about the same size for the rear and maybe 1-2" larger at most for the fronts.

probably an illusion..here's a better tire shot... although her front two tires are wide...the pressure require is only 15psi .... her back is about 27-30psi.

We were all three wheelers on Saturday... just all very different types. lots of stares....

COnsider getting bar end weights too. They will reduce the vibration.

Have you tried using Grip Puppies ( http://www.grip-puppy.co.uk/ ) or similar to increase the thickness of your grips? Worked for me, the hands don't need to grip so tight and remain in a comfortable relaxed fist shape.

Lady n Red ....

What I have on my scoot is one of the wide crampbuster. I use it on the "left" handlebar. Gives my palm something to rest on.

Now for the right grip, I have a throttlemeister which I use ONLY when I'm on a highway ... this way I can use my left hand to guide the scoot and give my right hand a break. Or give my right arm a way to move around (exercise) from having to grip the handle bar.

When I get back to riding, what say I come out to East Texas and ride with you ladies?

I need to go to Chandler to visit my Dad, while I'm there.

My hand starts burning after 15 or 20 minutes of riding. I use a crampbuster when on long rides on the road. But not around town. Both hands burn and tingle, then I lose feeling in my right hand without the crampbuster. Makes a world of difference, but too much trouble in town, and could be dangerous in stop and go traffic. Without the buster I have to stop and loosen up my hand to get it to come back to life. Weird how it can feel dead and hurt like heck at the same time. Have tried several different ways of holding the bars. I also have the bar ends. They helped for a year or so. Probably be a lot worse without them. I like funkys idea of using them on the left side as well, believe I might try it.

I just got a set of these for my bike:

eBay link

Or, if you want them in a color other than yellow, my search string was "foam handlebar brake grips".

It comes with 2 bar grips and 2 brake lever covers. I worked for about 15 minutes on the left one trying to get it on the bike and was only about 1/2 way done. So, out of frustration and desperation, I went in the house and grabbed a can of PAM cooking spray. After spraying that on the bars, it slipped right on in seconds!

These (and similar products) have helped me with my arthritis being able to grip the handles much more easily and for longer rides than was comfortable before.

And, heck, if you get them and decide you don't like them, you're only out about $4...

Hint: Use an air compressor and needle nozzle to apply high pressure air between the grip and handle bar... The grip will then slightly inflate, and slide right in place so easy you won't believe it. Also, foam grips are typically Glued in place (using Hair spray, grip glue, or contact cement), not Lubricated-in-place using PAM... I imagine that yours will forever be moving, due to the lube.

Or just wipe some soapy water on the inside of the puppies. Goes on easy and no movement once it dries. Jobsagoodun

They haven't moved at all in the 400 miles since I put them on. In fact, I've never glued grips down and haven't had any trouble.

I'm not saying that'll be the same for everyone, but it's shown no ill effects so far for me, so take that for what it's worth. (And we all know how you tend to get what you pay for with free advice...)

Hey Sanogeo....Doing research on tilt lock beeping and saw old post about wrist pain...wondering how's your wrists doing. I went to a specialist last year..test results on boarder line but not bad enough for ulnar surgery. For those who don't know what we r talking about. . http://www.elitesportstherapy.com/Cyclists--Palsy ....

I purchased eBay soft grips that slide over handlebars and grip busters...a little help... But can't imagine only 20 minutes b4 pain starts.. I also saw some padded gloves for this problem.. But didnt purchase em...Have you found anything else to help?
