One thing I detest is when Velcro closures give out before the rest of the product does. I find this especially common with riding gloves. And since good gloves aren't cheap, here is a trick I'm using to get a longer life out of them.

I picked up a roll of double sided Velcro bundling strap material at the local home improvement store. It comes in a 12 foot length x 3/4". I cut two 13" straps and added them onto the short tabs on the closure of the gloves. With 1 ½ wraps around the wrist, the Velcro sticks to itself and the glove will not accidentally come open due to a worn out fastener. They are on more securely at the wrist and the stock closure doesn't take such a beating.

After a bit of use, it doesn't seem to be a bother to work with.

It may be a solution for someone else too, so I offer this up for the group.

Nice.
I'm currently using 2 different sets of velcro closure gloves. Previously only had ones with a button closure. But I notice that the velcro on one set is starting to not stick as well and will loosen a little when moving around. This seems like a good solution for when they get a little worse.

How'd you attach the velcro to the glove? Sewn on? Did you pick the stitching from the old stuff before adding the new velcro?

Thanks Yano! Surprisingly, these didn't need to be stitched on. The cool part of the doubled sided Velcro product is that the "loop" side of my strap holds the "hook" park sewn onto the wrist, and the "loop" part of the original closure closes over it and onto the "hook" top of the strap, so the strap is very secure and sandwiched in there. Then, the 1 1/2 wraps around the wrist locks the strap onto itself. So, typical me, there are no short answers Laughing emoticon

I did remove all lint, fluff and chaff from the old Velcro first, however...

Thanks for the feedback

Very nice.

How about a whole suit for stripping.

I giggle like that whenever I undo Velcro... it's unexplainable, and admittedly creepy.
