Hi there,

I was wondering if a 2012 LX50 engine would fit into a 2006 LX50 frame. Key point will be a the wire harness I guess?

Any idea?

Thanks!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can even put an lx150 engine in a 50 chassis

first and foremost i'd like to state that i'm strictly talking out of my ass on this point seeing as that i've not done this particular swap... however, you should be good to go.

to my knowledge the LX50 was not sold in 2T form in the 'americas' (be that america's hat or america's pants) so, therefore you're looking at basically a straight swap.

again, my info is not hardline, but if you gots a 50 4T from '06 then more than likely the 50 4T from 12 should be a straight swap. and if it's a 2T then it should be the same. vis a vis (add the accents as needed)

now... if it's 2T to a 4T... well, then, all bets are off....

good luck with it hombre!

Only difference I can think of off the top of my head is the stator, you might have to put a 2 pin stator on the 2012 engine. The 2012 uses a different CDI, but if you switch out stator and flywheel, you should be able to use the earlier electronics. I'm not sure if the engine timing is the same though.
