I have a pair of Weise Victory...
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/mcn/products/productsresults/gloves/2010/june/jun1710-kit-review-weise-victory-gloves/ ...and some Tucano Urbano summer mesh... http://www.johnlewis.com/tucano-urbano-aero-gloves-black/p763595 For warm, wet days, I have a pair of single skin (no insulation) breathable outdoor gloves with no protection from Outdoor designs. These seem to have covered all the bases in the last season or two |

I just received these via eBay. Good fit, excellent leather and good venting.
Highly recommended! http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171270999334&var=470360121410 |

Not sure of their availability in the UK, but these are a good vented summer glove with an all leather palm and pretty inexpensive.

I have two pairs, which I actually wear year-round - possible when you've got heated grips and handlebar muffs
Alpinestars Sledge (these have been discontinued, unfortunately, but you can still find them on ebay for about £40 new, less if used): ![]() Richa Protect - I love these gloves and they're readily available, also about £40. ![]() |

For summer riding, I wear Petzl rock climbing gloves available through REI. (and here is a source in the UK - http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/lyon-cordex-gloves-p134987)

For summer riding I have always used Aerostitch "Elkskin Ropers." They are quite comfy but don't have any ventilation, nor are they waterproof. Also the only protection offered is the leather itself.
I recently purchased a pair of Rukka "Vauhti" summer gloves. They are night-and-day different than the Ropers. They have an area with little ceramic pieces that will protect the edge of one's hand during a slide, hard armor over the knuckles, and protection for the fingers, thumb and palm. They have a Gore-Tex waterproof lining, which I haven't tested yet, and an adjustable closure around the wrists. They have what appears to be very minor "venting" compared to what I usually think of for a vented glove, but compared to the Ropers, which have none at all, they have gobs. Plus, according to my wife, they look like something a Star Wars Storm Trooper would wear, which seemed pretty groovy to me, but she isn't so sure she likes them, based solely on looks. I predict these will become my go-to gloves for warm weather. |
RIP

Viper tactical gloves. Not specifically motorcycle gloves, they are what the police use. Had them years and cost about £15 on Amazon.

Most motorcycle gloves are too bulky. Pearl Izumi makes great mountain bike gloves - light, great grip, fit is unreal. Lifetime guarantee & reasonable price too.

You guys are brave, taking a spill at speeds over 50 km/h and not having proper full protection race gloves means serious serious risk of hand injuries.
I wear these, proper protection, kangaroo hide and all, but not "showy", I want a more discreet look on the Vespa. ![]() Works well with my leather jacket: ![]() ![]() The jacket is black but cool in the sun, it has nanoparticles in the "color" that reflects the suns rays. So, it is as cool as a white leahter jacket, it works really well. I do not toast away when it is hot. The gloves are well ventilated race gloves too. Wear Arai Race helmet, well vented that too. |

Personally, I quite like my skin, so I protect it as best I can. Shoei helmet, armoured gloves, jacket, trousers and boots. Overkill on a 125 Vespa? Maybe, but that's my choice. |

Well, there is no overkill in terms of safety, just degrees of stupidity when it comes to safety. Sure, I ride in Jeans and a plain jacket sometimes, but very very rare.
Most the time full protection, CE approved to the highest level, backplate, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hip pads and knee pads. I have "rescued" people that have taken spills on sportsbikes just wearing jeans. Rescued in the sense that I saw the crash and stopped and helped them. But, each to his/her own, but riding without a full face helmet, that is just out of the question, for me at least. Happy and safe riding everyone |

In all friendliness here, to all you who are using mountainbike gloves, I am a mountainbiker, ride a lot, and I can with conviction say, a spill on tarmac, those gloves will not protect you, period. I have torn holes in that type of gloves in the dirt from falling at speeds of around 20 km/h. Tarmac is 10 times more abrasive.

I really liked the Icon Twenty-niners but I can attest first hand that the fabric part will shred in an off. The only bit my skin that made contact with the road was my thumb knuckle where a nice hole was gouged out. I'm sticking with all-leather gloves now.

Mine have sliders yes, but any decent motorbike glove, will offer much better protection. They will at least have double layer of leather in the glide zone of the palm. Protect your digits.

I've had these Aerostich Vegan gloves since 2008. They have held up well. Airflow is moderate and they do wick moisture away so you don't get clammy hands. I only wish they came in white or a bright color. They do run small so order one size up from normal if you try them.
![]() ![]() Half gloves I got from Daytona Harley Davidson that I sometimes use on hot days.
