Modern Vespa

I have just taken my scooter out of storage and am going to change the oil and filter. I have the recommended 5w40 oil and HiFlo 183 filter.

I have a question to which i can't seem to find an answer. I have checked my manual, the wiki, the worksop manual, as well as googled the question. No results.

Here is my question. There are two plastic bulbs on the one side of the scooter. The one on the right is filled with what i am guessing is oil and is an oil indicator. The one one on the left is empty and i am wondering if someone could tell me what it is for and whether it should have some fluid in it.

I am attaching a photo which i am hoping will help explain my query. Thanks for any help offered.

They are moister traps/indicators and in theory shouldn't have anything in them!

all you need to do is take the air filter out and dry it more between some paper towels etc (ie there is to much oil on the filter)

Then clean out the airfilter housing and replace and crack on.

That's the air filter. the oil in the bulb should be the oil from the
Air Filter Oil Spray.

if it's dark, that the air filter out, wash it with warm water, spray some air filter oil on it and put it back in there.
