Hi all.
I get my used 2009 MP3 250 today. I am wondering is there any known likely hood of it falling over if left parked with handbrake and front wheels locked and the battery dies. I am not mechanical but assume activating the wheel locking is an electrical function or is it an electrically activated mechanical function. I may be uninformed but I prefer not to learn the hard way. Thanks in advance for your knowledge it will be gratefully received.

The tilt-lock (as opposed to the suspension lock) is mechanical, driven on via a worm gear and cable. It doesn't care what happens to the battery when it's locked on. You won't be able to unlock it without a battery though (without dismantling the bike that is).

Likewise the hydraulic suspension lock is placed under pressure by the same motor drive. Again, it does not depend on the battery being present once it's on.

Thank You that is reassuring as I was hoping I would not have to put it up on the center stand for parking. I collect mine in 4 hrs and am excited. After 45 yr plus on 2 wheel I am experiencing physical weakness that has opened my eyes to the possibilities of some fun cornering on a 3 wheeler. My husband has a Burgman 650 which I love to ride ( love the speed) but too heavy. I came off my 1500 Drifter ( Indian copy) last week. Time for new beginnings

Note that, for Extended Parking (> 1 day), you should use the Center Stand... otherwise the Tilt Lock tends to go into a Beep Beep error mode, requiring the tilt system to be bled.

It's surreal.
The MP3 250 is home in the garage, my hubby rode it home from the Honda dealers due to my injuries. I'm sore enough both physically and emotionally to make a fool of myself in front of salesmen and public.
One thing we noticed it had a slight weave when going straight on grooved road surface. We will check Tyre pressures, suspension settings and rule out maintenance tasks before accepting it as a characteristic of a 3 wheeler. Once he relaxed and didn't try to counter-steer it became less noticeable about the same time the road smoothed out. To be investigated all a learning process now.
I had one delicate ride around of our complex, to try engaging the wheel locks. It was so easy I had to lift my feet to verify the bike wasn't going to fall. What an amazing sensation. I found a clock and a temperature gauge both new features for me. I know I am going to love this ride except perhaps for the lack of the speeds I am used to. Another learning curve.
Next task is find out whether it's male or female, give it a name and source appropriate stickers or adornments to personalize my new toy.

Welcome, I lean.

You still need to countersteer an MP3. Also you will be safer in the long run if you make a habit of putting your feet down at every stop. The tilt-lock system is very good, but it's not perfect (and neither is any human operator I know).

Cheers.

Greetings I Lean. I have been lurking here for years and purchased my MP3 just several months ago.

The one thing I've learned is once you start adding accoutrements, you can't stop. There are so many different mods that can be done to this bike that it is astounding.

It's true Scooter riders are so nice.
Thanks everyone for the advice, I have learnt more than the owners manual told me. Thanks also for the welcome sentiments and the beautiful flowers. I'd like to respond to each individually but I find as a Lurker, I am unable to even like comments for now. The forum discussions here and on hubby's Burgman site are so much more friendly to me than other forums where the men verbally resent a mature woman riding similar bikes. Right now I am trying to be patient and concentrate on getting myself back to work before engaging in some country riding.

It's a girl
MP3 is a girl because her licence plate is 236 LC. Numerology adds the numerals to an 11 which is a master number. Which briefly means that whatever happens related to this bike will have a greater effect and consequences both positive and negative. Useful consideration for me. Hopefully she is not going to be a drama queen.
Secondly the LC becomes Elsie her name. Elsie and Eileen (me)
