Hi all

I am considering buying a local Vespa PX 200 GS E from 1988

My question is, does parts from the T5 fit on the Vespa PX 200 GS E ?

Looks like the wider headlight, glovebox, horncast etc. are the same form the pictures ive seen.

Does anyone know this for a fact ?

Cheers
Kasper

Aside from the engine, the scooters are very much alike, it even has the T5 front fork.

They were only available in Belgium and around where you live. So if you need any GS specific 2nd parts, Belgium is a safe bet: I've got a GS buddyseat laying around - almost exactly a T5 seat, but with a grabrail an GS print on the back.

The 200gs it's basically like the Spanish tx200. Mk1 T5 frame, px200 engine.

Value
Compared to a PX200E how is the PX200E GS valued?.

He hus asking approx 1300 USD for it, all original but needs a good polish.
He says no rust at all. From 1988

Take a look here http://www.guloggratis.dk/transport/motorcykel/vespa/annonce/billeder/22948341-vespa-px-200-gs-e

That's a custom one, with the standard seat. If pay a little more than I'd pay for a px, butless than a t5. 1200 seems fair . Local market will dictate the prices though

So the PX200GS E is valued higher then a normal PX200E?

My seat is the same as in jacksons photo, but with a chrome bar. The seat is rarer then a T5 seat.

You can just order T5 parts for the frame and PX parts for the motor.

Sip carries the badge:
http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/badge+gs+_93585000

The T5/GS/TX look is very love it or hate it - find the right buyer, get the right price.

Looks and sounds from the descriptions very much like the LML "T5". Anyone know anything about that?

Similar enough. Though the gs and tx don't muddy the water by calling it a t5. Which as we know refers to the 5 transfer barrel. They use an Italian or Spanish made px200 lump

So basically the lml select(I think I'd called) is an Indian made square tail with a lml engine. Square headlight too but traditional px pinch bolt type headset fixing. Unlike the t5 which uses collar locking nuts that's make it a pain in the balls when you need to nip it up.

Then there is the indo version called the exel. Like brother ebeth has. Which is a standard engine in a square frame. Not sure on the headset fixture though...

The meter says 21,748miles and the engine is original with no mods.
Question is if i can get my money back when done with my other px200e.
But what the heck, it is not millions we are talking about

On a square tail they rust on the welded in piece that makes them square. Put your hand up up into the wheel arch and have a feel around. There should be two rubber plugs inline with where the back light is. If they are there it'll be fine. If they are gone it means any water thrown up by the back wheel ends in between the standard px frame and the welded on back section.

So if they are gone check for the famous t5 arse rot.
