A bike racing buddy of mine only had one hand, he had both brake cables routed into a single lever so that they were activated at the same time... He had to be pretty careful to make sure that his rear brake was set just a bit tighter than the front.

a lady walking along the road carrying a box of chips (chips ) with an enormous - no, a gigantic - gob of mayonnaise on top. it was like half a jar. it actually made me feel queasy knowing that she was about to ingest that much mayonnaise.

Day before that I saw a crashed VW Passat at the side of the road with it's entire roof cut off.

Saw a homeless man trying to get a on bus. Bus driver apparently didn't like the homeless guy and wouldn't let him on the bus and pulled off. Homeless guy starts chasing the bus and in the process his pants fall down. Homeless go proceeds to run three blocks butt ass naked down the street yelling at the bus.

I would have loved to have seen that.

Saw a guy riding a bicycle with a washcloth on his head a couple of days ago. Square washcloth - round head. It was 40F outside.

Saw a fellow wearing a monocle. A first for me.

Eating lunch at a pizza joint. It has both a seating area and a lot of take-away customers. No good place for the take-away customers to wait and all the seating was taken for dine-in. A lady plopped herself right in front of the napkins and utensils waiting for her food. Then she pulled out her smartphone and proceeded to zone out pecking away on that while everyone else tried to navigate around her to get napkins and utensils. Some people's kids!

Went to a "cricket" match this evening. They have no idea how to play: they ran in circles, forgot to put up the wickets, didn't know how to bowl, used stick-like bats and mainly played in one corner of the field. These 'mericans are strange...

Saw a guy on a unicycle that had a console on it, with an iPhone holder, a cup holder, and a GoPro. He was riding it to work. Humongous wheel size, too.

'you want weird! I walked out of soccer tonight just wearing shorts at 10:30 PM and drove home with my windows open... THAT felt weird in this frozen wasteland the last 6 months have been!

A guy comes into the small gym I go to the other day goes on every piece of equipment in about 10 minuets. Every one he goes hell for leather. does about 10 reps on the weight machines and about 30 seconds on the cardio stuff. All this time I'm on a cross trainer watching. it was like exercise in fast forward.

My company makes the satellites and launch vehicles for my country's space program. We also run the ground control station once they are in orbit.

I watched the launch of our 10th Satellite early yesterday.

The 'weird shit' part of it was that I watched it being launched westward; the opposite direction of every other satellite launch in the world.

Every other space capable country in the world launches their rockets eastward to take advantage of the earth's rotation. Since we don't want to raise tensions with any of our neighbors to the east, we launch in the opposite direction (west towards the Mediterranean, just south of Aviator47's house) - using a MUCH more powerful rocket engine - to escape the grip of earth's gravity.

Truth be told, it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Big rocket engines make for some really cool viewing!!!

Woke me up with that launch. I had a flashback, rolled under the bed and yelled "Incoming" to Mrs Av.

I'm pretty sure she got it right... you take American... drop the "A" and you have "Merican". For effect saying "Mericans" should be followed by a "Hell YEAH!" or "HooEeey!".
