I watched the launch of our 10th Satellite early yesterday. The 'weird shit' part of it was that I watched it being launched westward; the opposite direction of every other satellite launch in the world. Every other space capable country in the world launches their rockets eastward to take advantage of the earth's rotation. Since we don't want to raise tensions with any of our neighbors to the east, we launch in the opposite direction (west towards the Mediterranean, just south of Aviator47's house) - using a MUCH more powerful rocket engine - to escape the grip of earth's gravity. Truth be told, it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Big rocket engines make for some really cool viewing!!! Check out the launch....Just as Trepp says, these are awesome! http://www.floridatoday.com/story/tech/science/space/2014/04/10/atlas-v-spy-satellite-blast-off-from-cape-canaveral/7553307/ |

I work at ILRS/VLBI out here, but until just recently also maintained antennas for Universal Space Network, Swedish Space Corp, NASA, etc, at their sites here. And yeah, launching west IS weird (although understandable). Oh, yeah, back to the thread. Yesterday I saw a little 2 yr old kid sitting in a special little kids chair, like a high-chair thing with a special seat belt, even had his own small handlebars that twisted too! Why is that weird? It was on the back of his dad's Road King Hoggley taking off from the lights! You would think if the bloke could afford a great big Hoggley he could afford a tin top to cart around his boy........ |

Riding along the A30 today, I saw a naked white man being followed by a black man who was carrying his clothes and just kinda jogging along behind him.
The naked dude had the biggest penis I've ever seen. Seriously, that thing was bigger than a babies arm. Ridiculous. This was near Wentworth Golf Course. |

Not so much "weird" as "funny". At lunch... we were approaching a spacious parking spot when a SUV flew around the corner and snagged it before we were committed. No problem, we took a different spot. Four of us unloaded from the car and walked past the SUV, who's driver was making her 3rd attempt at getting parked. This was a very large space! It should have been an easy park.

Besides, taking photos whilst messing around with throttle and clutch would surely be irresponsible. Probably dangerous too. I told my wife the story and her response was "so wait a minute, the white guy had the huge penis??" |

I saw this on my way to my 2nd shift of the day. I passed by the front and he was talking gibberish... "Why am I naked?". While he was asking himself that question, he was still in the process of undressing himself.
