Modern Vespa

I just saw this . There is now what looks like a run-down garden on top. Mostly weeds.

Today I spotted a super skinny, hunched over, shuffling, ancient African American woman crossing the street wearing a leotard, HUGE tutu, Converse hightops (all bright pink) and carrying a massive (she could fit in it) matching shoulder bag.

My thoughts too. Considering the proximity to Motown and all too....somebody got to take her for a nice run.

Wedged into a tree near an otherwise nice-looking house.

I don't know, seemed a bit creepy to me....

A 12V power tap on a boat battery...

Mt is that it is a Cadillac by the body lines.

The guy in front of me who realized that a police officer was pulling up next to him, in a very slow and practiced manner lowered the joint out of his mouth and subtly blew the smoke out without coughing.

It was all I could do not to bust out belly laughing. Well done sir!

This AM on the way to work:
Saw a lady with a goat on a leash.
There was a policeman feeding the goat.
Another police car was showing up as I was passing.

I don't live in a rural or farm type area where anyone would have a goat.

Exiting the freeway today traffic was backed up and as I move forward slowing I notice some large yellow pointy ball on the shoulder.

Fresh Durian, just sitting there in the sun. Glad I was in the car...

The oncoming car with it's left turn signal on causing me to put up my guard whether they would attempt to turn in front of me....

....which then turns right.

IMHO the casual use of the word "shit" in normal conversation signifies a crude, low-class, person.

This is the weird thing "I saw" today thread not the "language I heard today" thread.

Actually the use of expletives is normal conversation denotes a lack of vocabulary not a persons status in the world. This could be from poor education or a lack of reading.

The use of expletives can be useful in conveying one's displeasure in a situation where one is talking to " a crude, low-class, person"

I can articulate as eruditely as the next sesquipedelian.

I can also use terse, basic, earthy words and figures of speech if that gets the idea across better.

To me, this indicates a facility with language, not a poverty thereof.

"Weird shit I saw today" very effectively communicates what this thread is about.

Besides, "weird excrement" just doesn't work.

I'm not sure it's safe to consider much of our dialogue on MV as "normal conversation."

Seriously, I've had more than a few discussions with our adolescent daughter about "creative use of language." It seems as tempting as ever to flaunt your edgy vocabulary. I agree it does reflect class, but to me context is everything.
The illusion is that high-class, educated folk don't even know those words, which I rather doubt.

Actually, I think the cat is lithographed or painted somehow on the plastic. Take a close look at the cat. No way that thing is riding in there, in the posture it's shown, without it's face being smushed up against things, etc.

YMMV.
