I saw an ageing transvestite on a bicycle and a hipster stuff his canal boat into the bank while being egged on by enthusiastic revellers/ drunk people taking the piss.

"All right Captain !" they cheered as he totally misjudged his aquatic attempt at parking.
There was a resounding crunch as the bow connected and I have to admit I did have a little giggle.

A few years back while cruising with a self skippered barge on the Nivernaise Canal, we watched a barge with three men on board doing the best imitation of the Three Stooges we have ever seen. They pulled into the lock chamber and drove the bow into the side wall. One guy jumped off, line in hand as the skipper applied full power astern. Guy yanks the line, and the boat is now perpendicular to the lock wall. Skipper applies full power ahead, etc, etc.

We offered to assist, but were angrily turned down. Probably because we were laughing so hard. Finally, the lock tender took charge and talked them through getting the boat in position.

HOWEVER, as the water was being let out of the lock, the guy on the stern line had tied it to a cleat, and suddenly the stern is high and dry, with the bow pointing down. The weight of the boat on the line made it impossible for the guy to free it from the cleat. Fortunately, the line snapped (rather than the cleat pulling out of the gunwale) with a loud crack, and the stern dropped back into the water with a thud. They waited a fair time after we left that lock before they resumed cruising, and probably took a different leg of the canal than we, as we never saw them again.

This morning I saw a guy with a long beard wearing a long robe and sandals wandering down the street outside the old city of Jerusalem screaming something unintelligible. This has become so common (especially in the season leading up to Passover / Easter) that they have a name and recognized diagnosis for it: Jerusalem syndrome.

Apparently proximity to all this history and religion blows fuses on the mental motherboard of certain susceptible individuals. I buddy of mine, who is a psychologist and does some volunteer work with the Jerusalem municipality, says that this time of year it isn't uncommon to find a half a dozen messianic looking characters in the psych-hold area awaiting evaluation.

When I was out riding on my test today, in West Drayton I saw a man dressed in a full Superman outfit, complete with cape, bending down and chiselling at a kerb stone in some roadworks.

Weird.

Saw a lot of pig and chicken gore today. We were cooking them for our board of directors lunch but it was still quite unsettling and upsetting. Tasted good though.

The six horses next door always come too the fence when they hear my P200 pull in the driveway, and I am forced to feed them apples or carrots. It's odd that they don't come when I'm in the the truck or the BV.

I saw three different people with their arms in a sling today.

Saw a guy on a Harley this morning with no helmet but wearing hi vis.

Road past a hearse from the sixties the other night. But it was painted in some kind of iridescent black. The light caught it and the colors just made it look weird. Metalflaked too.

I think it had a taxi sign on the roof?
