Must
There's probably a show going on nearby.
There's a Spitfire locally that I must see about twice a week. And just as I'm writing another one goes over. Bill x |

Accident
Driving my scoot home from work today, on a 4 lane road plus turn lane...
A truck cut in front of a car coming the same direction, both towards me about 100 yards in front of me. I heard a horn, then a loud crash. By then I was past them. Thankfully, everyone was ok and I was not involved!!! |

Found a guy, drugged up to his eye balls in amongst the bushes near my home. It looked like he'd been there all night. I went in to check he was OK but sadly he was convulsing and throwing up so I called the police and an ambulance. At this point he starts screaming gibberish, he manages to get up and staggers straight into the path of a car on the nearby road. Manage to heard him back into the nearby park and follow him around at a distance to make sure he doesn't harm anyone or himself and also so the ambulance can find him. I'm sure it wasn't doing his paranoia any good having me follow him but hey ho

I'll admit the idea of the t-rex costume does sound like a laugh.
I'll admit when you see these people it does make you wonder what they see as the upside of sleeping in a bush overnight while covered in their own vomit. Saying that, he's not the worse I've seen by a long way. About a mile from where I live I once found a young girl cutting off her arm with a razor blade while sitting in a shop door way. She was all the way down to the bone when I took the blade off her. The really depressing thing about that incident was the way the ambulance guy just shoved her in the back like it was something he did all the time. It makes you wonder what the world is coming to at times ... |

Saucerful of Secrets
I live near Pilton which is where the Glastonbury Festival takes place (Glastonbury is actually 6 miles away).
Although the Festival finished 4 weeks ago it's common to see people on the road days later. Today I was out on my Monkey Bike on The Old Wells Road (a Roman road which is as straight as a die), when walking towards me was a 30ish man wearing nothing but a bath towel around his waist and down to his ankles. No clothes, no shoes and carrying no bags. His eyes were like saucers but seeing nothing. It was quite a surreal moment. somerset |

Living in a big city you see some stuff that would make normal people feel depressed, but it is just casual every day events you don't even bat an eye at anymore.
I've had knifes swung at me on the subway, physically assaulted by mentally deranged people on the subway, seen a dude butt naked in the middle of a busy intersection struggling against constipation to take a dump with layers deep of people getting out of their cars to take photos with their phones instead of call an ambulance and help the person. Just some of the crazy stuff that is relatively normal after 14 yrs in NYC. |

Top this one...
During a recent cold spell in Upington, Northern Cape ZA, some construction workers being transported to a site were clearly a little cold, so to warm themselves, they built a fire... on the back of the truck !

The weird thing was that nobody seemed to notice or look back at him. PS: The ablutions block had a gents and ladies entrance at each end with washbasins outside. Inside it was the same room with a row of shower and toilet cubicles on each side and urinals on the gents end. |

People
Yeah, I probably won't intervene when I see someone in trouble whose probably brought it upon themselves just because you don't know how they are going to react toward you.
If I know you, sure I'll help. If I don't you're not my problem. You're your own problem. In my mid 20's I really tried to fit in by drinking, smoking and doing a fair amount of drugs but I soon realised it was a pathetic attempt to belong and it really wasn't for me so I stopped doing everything. I'm a big enough Gobshite without adding fuel to the fire. The only issue with remaining totally sober it is that it makes you sanctimonious and judgemental when you're a witness to others totally fucking themselves up. Your tolerance for others behaviour reduces somewhat also. Bill x

I think you and Madison Sully have the whole locomotion thing figured out!
Sooo, last night, walked into our bedroom and see one of our cats sitting at the head of the bed staring at something intently, occasionally taking a nervous swat periodically. Then I hear my CPAP machine running. He's apparently stepped on the on switch, and startled by the air rushing out of the tube, so he's got to sort things out. |

Walking across the street to the bank this noon. Passed a pickup truck with a snowblower sitting on the back....running. In August.
Either it's a late attempt to burn out old gas, or he's keeping it warmed up for the first snowfall in 3+ months. |
