Not today - actually a few years ago.

While having dinner with the family at an Italian restaurant in Flagstaff, Arizona, I needed to see a man about a dog.

This is what was hung above the urinal.

Full-service attendant: "Fill 'er up? Check the oil-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu?"

This stupid turkey wasn't going to let me get gas. I had to keep one eye on the bird and one on the pump. It didn't run away even when I started the engine, and it chased me across the parking lot. There are turkeys moving in all over town and some of them are quite aggressive.

While riding out in the country yesterday, I saw a guy riding a big John Deere mower on his many acres of grass (large estate) wearing a face mask. Honestly, doesn't "out in a field alone" qualify as social distancing?

See that kind of thing ALL the time here. Most common weird thing I see is people driving alone in their completely closed car with a mask on. OK so maybe not as bad as in the middle of a field but ya know what I mean. As of next week a mask has to be worn in every public space in the city.

Now as far as wildlife goes.. yeah lots of stories of them getting more comfy moving back in where places have had lock down. Seriously if the human species were to just go away any proof of our existence would be gone in less time than most think.

Not so daft - I have to wear a facemask when mowing or else I'll be coughing all day from the 'death stars' that seem to be sent up by the mower. I bet that's why he's wearing one.

Probably and Occupational Safety recommendation / requirement in the instruction booklet. Was he wearing safety glasses as well?

A friend has a large fenced and hedged property.
His wife enjoys catching a tan when mowing the lawn.
It is somewhat surreal to see a woman riding a mower with a respirator mask on...

but no bikini top!

^^^^ To mitigate inhaling irritants such as dust or pollen; when harvesting, the combines especially kick up the irritants. Go to any local feed store or tractor supply store, you will find (up until Covid19 became an issue) various quality face masks or dust masks to purchase. For example, national retailer - Tractor Supply; stores carry additional stock, dependent on what locals request.

Not really weird for around here (and it was horse shit instead of weird shit) but parked outside my office this afternoon.....

Been riding my bicycle rather a lot lately.
And it has occurred to me more than once to wear a mask while doing so.
Not anything to do with COVID, really.
It's the bugs I keep eating.
It gets to be a pain in the patoot to wash them down with water while I'm concentrating on pedaling.


And I have had some close calls with some rather big buggers; it's really odd.
Never seemed to have this issue when I was riding a LOT more than I am whilst in college....
It's mostly the thought of catching some dragonfly or junebug sort of thing right in the kisser that makes me think maybe I'll go ahead and don something light while I'm riding....

So many questions....

Riding home today I saw a car had missed a turn and parked itself neatly in the garden at a nearby shopping centre. It was parked exactly inline with the other cars which was kinda strange. There were a few concerned looking people standing around, but the old lady in the drivers seat was nonchalantly eating a p i e like she didn't have a care in the world. Maybe she didn't.
