In a bizarre coincidence a truck driver actually shared that joke with me during my arrival.

Just last week the council voted to not extend guard rails in parking lots, saying there couldn't possibly be any benefit to doing so.

Most people return from the market simply hoping a shopping cart hasn't found its way into their quarter panel. This is next level.

Maybe next time that person will push their car all the way into the cart corral to prevent such things.

A guy in a SUV flipped out that a guy in a F150 claiming he was too close. The SUV driver grabbed the other guy's cell phone threw it 50ft. then proceeded to try attack then guy then attempted to run him over. He then stopped grabbed the phone as he drove away and then threw it to the ground again. Did I mention the SUV was stolen and this was across the street from the local police detachment motor pool.

took 'em about a half hour or so to respond eh?

No actually we flagged them down as it was happening. If that didn't work we could have gone to the Timmies on the other corner of the street. Special kind of stupid to get into a fight with a stolen car wedged between a police station and a doughnut shop in a city that is only 10 km.sq.

Like a cop once told me: "We don't catch the smart ones."

It appears that the town was decorating for the holidays a little early this year. And no, they weren't Reindeer.

So this morning while driving to the beach to greet the sunrise I came across a silver MK4 Golf on it's roof and two guys looking a little disappointed with themselves.

The Golf had foreign plates on it and the two Gentlemen looked really really suspicious but both looked uninjured.

Apart from the inverted vehicle scenario something gave me a very bad feeling about what I'd just witnessed.

I didn't stop. I flashed my lights at every car coming the opposite way but I didn't stop.

That's called a Double Bogey.

What threw me wasn't that there was a car on its roof on a section of straight road. That's pretty much the norm around here.

It was the way that these guys made me feel that bothered me.

It's really hard to explain. It was an instinct I guess.

It's wise to go with your gut. Something was definitely off there. A job for the authorities, indeed.

On my odometer today. Lots of 2s and 9s.
