Me too, if "by proxy" counts. My buddy in college pulled the engine from his VW bus, sat it on the coffee table, got out his copy of Volkswagen Repair for the Compleat Idiot and had an interesting semester.

His girlfriend came to live with him the following year, so he got in under the wire. Fun times were over. She didn't even like him playing Twinkle Twinkle on the banjo. Ultimately the banjo survived.....

Gorilla Candles has six different scents that might work for ya. They also have one that smells like Motor Oil, but it's not included in that collection, for some reason.

Dang, you saved me! It's frustrating getting things on my birthday list as I'm rapidly becoming my father. (His response to list requests for Christmas was "two nice kids" which used to irritate mightily). This will do fine!

OK, based on Green Chef's Commitment to Sustainability, I'm fairly comfortable with saying that the following is most likely true:

• It was most likely printed on 100% recycled paper.
• Their print vendor most likely is committed to using 100% renewable energy, just like Green Chef does.
• I'd be willing to bet that the ink used is eco-friendly at worst.

My main concern would be the energy source. Printers use a lot of energy. According to Energy Star, my five production printers each typically use 17.4 kWh/week, and the digital front ends add another 10+ kWh/week to that, so 137 kWh/week total. That doesn't account for the finishing equipment (cutters, packaging equipment, etc.), the lights, HVAC, or any other equipment in the shop.

This struck me as a bit...weird, though admittedly more mundanely weird than someone might think of as in the Twilight Zone category of weirdness.

It's more subtletely weird.

Strolling through the Walmart in Sheridan, Wyoming around noontime today whilst foraging for some economical noontime repast, I noticed this unusual western hat display overhead.

It occurred to me that, up until that moment, I had never seen cowboy hats thusly displayed in the menswear section of a Walmart before, even in cowboy-rich Rapid City's Walmarts (there's two there now, not counting the Sam's Club).

As it happens, I already have a cowboy hat, so was not tempted to purchase another at this time.

While driving back home on I-90 from Spearfish, SD today, I passed the guy who's job is to drive up and down the highways and pick up all the deer carcasses from the previous day's and night's vehicle collision carnage.

Here in Wisconsin they've been letting them return to the earth. Gets kind of grisly looking, but the Turkey Vultures, crows and eagles are mighty grateful!

I wonder if he sells them? Venison is one of the most healthy meats available.
