Throwing up my breakfast like a drunk in the street.
Just awful.

This is quite the mash up of genres - Just your average Halloween, wine rack, charcuterie board, Indian, Vespa.
It can be yours for a close out price of $399.00. Chris from CLE

What was weird was the smelly old man whose opening salvo was to try to engage me with the weather conversation earlier today while we were both in the queue at the Bank.
What do you think of the Weather ? was the question. Silence was the answer. Two more times the question was deployed and twice I didn't respond. You know that you don't have to talk to these people don't you ? |

What do you think of the Weather ? was the question. Silence was the answer. Two more times the question was deployed and twice I didn't respond. You know that you don't have to talk to these people don't you ? If you ask AI whether humans are social creatures, it has this to say : Quote: Yes, humans are social creatures, with evidence pointing to a deep-seated biological need for connection that is essential for well-being and development. This social nature is evident in our long childhoods, which are crucial for learning and socialization, and our ability to cooperate with strangers on a massive scale. Studies even show that social isolation can trigger a craving for social interaction, similar to how hunger triggers a craving for food. Biological and psychological need: Humans have an evolved, basic need for social connection that is grounded in our biology. Social isolation can trigger "craving" responses in the brain similar to those experienced with food deprivation. Developmental importance: Long periods of childhood and adolescence are unique to humans and allow for essential learning, play, and socialization before adulthood. Social connections are crucial for personal and emotional development. Cooperation and empathy: A key aspect of human sociality is our ability to cooperate not just with family, but also with strangers, and to scale that cooperation to large groups. Empathy, the ability to sense what others feel, is a skill that helps us connect with one another. Well-being: Social connections are vital for our well-being, even in a modern, digital age. Our education systems and social policies are informed by the understanding of how relationships impact our well-being and that of society as a whole. Brain function: Research into social neuroscience shows that the brain is wired for social behavior. Studies suggest that increased serotonin function can enhance prosocial behaviors like "grooming," and that the midbrain shows increased activity in response to social cues after isolation.

In that case then I'm very happy for you but I'm a little more cynical.
For a start I'm really bad at small talk and rather than encourage being duplicitous I'd much rather not have that exchange. I've often recognised the pattern of a stranger making a remark about what you have as a caveat to talk about themselves and what they have and for the majority of the time and I'm just not that interested. To back that up, I'm really not that interesting so I'd rather not share the banality of my life with someone who barely knows me. A nod of recognition is all I'll hope for. |

While out running errands on Saturday we passed by the now-closed Tommy's BBQ in Irving, and I was able to snap a pic of the cow out front.
There's a cow mural painted on the Chuck/Brisket portion.

Weird Shit.
Like laying inside an MRI and having to hold your breath while pushing down internally on your diaphram. I think my face was the colour of a beetroot at the time. The worst thing was having to listen to Smooth FM on the headphones they gave me. |

It's that time of year down here where the grass is really taking off.
Trev, the bloke across the road takes good care of his lawns. Or more likely his mums lawns. This obviously brings him much joy.

Trev isn't selfish at all, not one bit.
So Trev makes sure he doesn't deny his neighbour the opportunity to experience the joy of lawn mowing. I'm sure after mowing he sits down, cracks open a cold one and gazes lovingly at the lush grass he has left for the lady next door.

Perhaps it is a subtle hint for those living around her to take a turn at the job and share the joyful experience of mowing her grass as well. Otherwise, it's all a mystery. I occasionally take a photo of it as I pass by. Here's three, starting with a late August shot, notice the full greenery of the late summer foliage, followed by a mid-Autumn picture, notice the lack of foliage, and finally, an image from yesterday, after a recent 'Winter Weather Event', as described by the TV weatherman. The mower's position has been reversed several times by local tricksters (me included), but it remains mid-yard. In another week or so, I will take it upon myself to sneak up to it and festoon it's push handle with some Christmas decor appropriate to the season.

Bill Dog wrote: Maybe a Welfare Check is in order ? Nothing is ever mentioned about the odd mower situation by either, so it's just going to remain a small mystery for now. I really don't want to know why it's where it is, and for so ridiculously long, I just like it there for whatever goofy reason it's there. It definitely adds an element of weirdness to an otherwise rather boring neighborhood.

Gerry McGovern, the design boss at Jaguar Land Rover has been sacked.
It's kind of weird when he was just designing cars to the parameters that the company gave him. |

Well, this is the thing that I don't understand.
They gave him the parameters, he designed it and they agreed to it. It then fails the sniff test and they make HIM the scapegoat. For a 69 year old man he does have the most luxurious coloured hair. Just sayin. |
