Hi recently ive had serious immobiliser problems with my Vespa GTS super 300, As a result an many checks the throttle body has been damaged somehow the garage has comfirmed to me so basically i need a new Throttle body unit, what the shop have said is i can either buy a brand new one or wait around and try my lu buying a second hand unit for cheaper.

What i would like to know is Does the Vespa 250 super use the same Throttle body unit as the 300? As ive come across a few cheaper Units across the internet but they are all for 250s, i have found one recently with the MUI number CM078201, and it looks identical to the throttle unit that i have on my 300 can someone who the knowledge please comfirm to me it will be suitable for my bike?

Kind Regards Vesp3

Mate sorry I can't give you a definite answer but have you looked at the parts list for both bikes??

I use these guys to check parts

Hi Thanks mate, So what i did on this site you recommended is check my scooter which is the models of GTS300 EI Super between 2008 - 2013 in Dragon Red , i found the throttle body unit but it does no have any code listed, so i done the same in the GTS250 section and looked up the same Models between 2005 - 2013 and also found the same Dragon Red Coloured model in a 250 version, lookedup the throttle body and still no code for me to see if they are matching or suitable togo onto a 300 model so im still in limbo here, really need to know so i can just get back on the roads as summer is coming up! and im already missing out on some nice weather coming through lately

Thank You so much for you suggestion and time Appreciate it.

Kind Regards V300.

The 250 and 300 versions will have different mappings (but otherwise identical) - now whether the 250 throttle body can take the 300 mapping is another question.

Me - I'd stump up for a new 300 one, as getting a used 250 one to work reliably may be more hassle than its worth.

Seems like I read somewhere that the 250 fuel injector could not flow more than 21hp worth?

Yeah i agree i was just making sure and checking up on things before any maybe save some money since there are alot of 250cc throttle bodies around and hardly any 300 units.

Thanks alot for the heads up! My vespa is in an official piaggio garage and they are telling me they are seeing what else they can do to try an avoid buying a new throttle body by trying to repair the one my bike has already there computer cannot get into the throttle unit properly and there is a fault somewhere in the unit but there could be a way of fixing it somehow just waiting on the news from then before i get the green light that i need to buy a new one.

Kind Regards V3
